Didn't make that mistake but did miss a few opportunities to see Joe Bonamassa at a local club for around a fiver when he was first starting up...
I’m sure we’ve all been there, a few times I’ve been offered free tickets to see bands and not gone. Only for a critical band member to die shortly after 2 stand outs were Thin Lizzy and Joe Strummer and the Mescalero’s. It’s a guilt I have to bear, invariably I don’t turn them down these days……
..but ironically fewer offers come? - hence that term, he who pontificates etc. It's happened to us all N, there is no way of knowing which method will tick all the boxes, in all of the colours.
Same here, offered a free ticket and a lift to see Deep Purple, original line up, and you guessed it, turned it bloody down, what a twat
@DucatiScud stirred up some memories - this band played at Guildford Civic Hall in 1977 (apparently - thought it was '76). Not really my thing, but have a badge somewhere with them on together with Eddie & the Hotrods and a story linking a Sham 69 guitarist.. you are right Mike, well he submitted his take for "Peg" but it didn't get chosen apparently. Still, considering how picky both of them were I guess he could be flattered possibly that they considered him at all.
If you like this stuff, check out Clive Carroll, he has supported Tommy Emmanuel and also plays solo, mindblowing.
saw them once by accident at Knebworth, i was hoping for laryngitis selfishly but no such luck. Always admired Bonham so did make my day. Very pleased that they picked Kashmir though.
I like it, my lad picks these up from YouTube as part of his guitar practice, he’s trying to get much better at finger picking style.
