Discussion in 'Touring' started by ymfb, Apr 13, 2023.

  1. Will be riding towards Linton from Ilminster, looking for a nice cafe, Farm shop, garden centre sort of place, possibly nr Tiverton, preferably not in the town.

    Ideas gratefully received.

  2. Either that or the Ducks Ditty Barge, same car park just walk up the embankment to the canal, nice coffee and local Pasties, although I could be biased as the owners are friends of mine :joy:

  6. I’ve lived down in Somerset & Devon and ridden the roads round here for the last 20 yrs. The A396 North from Tiverton is a cracking road and the Tiverton cafes mentioned above are nice but on balance, from Ilminster I’d say avoid the route through Tiverton and head for the B3224 across Exmoor. Go via the White Post Cafe at Langford Budville nr Wellington which is great. If the weather is nice maybe take a short detour and check out Wellington Monument. Recently renovated and opened for the first time in 25 yrs or more, so you can climb to the top for the view.

  7. Butter (unsalted), then jam, then cream. Then more jam, and more cream, just to cover all bases.
