Hey all So its finally come to that point that owned and ridden my dream bike, actually two dream bikes the R1 and 2018 panigale V4s. The current being the V4S and love it to bits. However, I have to give into the pain/discomfort/strain I get in my hips and lower back and looking at alternatives both the Diavel and Streetfighter V2 have popped up as possible options. I've binged watched everything on the Diavel and looking at the ergonomics it could fit the bill nicely. not going to £23k on the 2023 diavel that much i know lol. But is the V2 streetfighter comfortable? would you get more wind blast on it that the daviel. Can any guys shed any real world insights on either of the two? Thanks
I’ve ridden a 1260 Diavel and own a V2 Streetfighter. The SF is a fair bit lighter and more nimble, so as someone that suffers with a bad back find the SF more comfortable and easier to ride. I am tempted to have a go on the new V4 Diavel, but don’t want to put my bank account at risk!
I had a diavel carbon before i bought the v2, I miss the torque of the diavel the sort of 0 to 60 pull. I have now purchased an akrapovic exhaust hoping I get a little more low down torque it'll be fitted soon to know if it helps. The v2 power kicks in at around 7k revs which is great but you are already flying at this point so I'm now going around too fast . I've looked at getting a diavel again but as soon as I jumped on one it I didn't realise how heavy they actually were, hence why I bought exhaust instead, I've no doubt I will go back to diavel one day, cause I can't carry on doing the speeds I am and that feeling of torque its amazing like someone punching you in face and the sound too is incredible, They are both amazing machines if you want a chill long ride with the odd lol punch in face torque overtake and rev the engine with a thunderous tone then diavel If you wanna go round at literally 100 miles an hour hanging for dear life nothing gets in your way and flowing through the bends also be able to jump on it pop to shops in town, then streetfighter v2
Thanks, I know what you, i managed to test ride a Diavel, V4S Streetfighter and Diavel V4. The V4 was the best all round but at 24k, thats not happening. I think i enjoyed the change of pace on the Diavel so I think its time to switch it up. My only dilema now is that i have seen a 1260s with standard exhaust on a 2019 plate and a 2021 1260 with ther Termi exhaust, remapped in matt black. The 1260 looks great but not sure which is better.
Always the higher spec s model for resale but you will want an exhaust, as its quite quiet. the exhausts on the 1260 aren't too much, less than 2k, and some may are homolgated, I had a hp course that was about 1k I think. Me personally for the tourque factor I'd look at a gen 2 not the 1260 and again a higher spec model like the red carbon, you won't loose any money when coming to sell it either. And that model is the original design of diavel with the gen 1 issues ironed out.
Ok, so I'm a year late here, but.. Owned a SF V4S...not comfortable. It seemed to force your knees out and that made my hips hurt. I am six foot, (no really) I sat on the SF V2, it felt smaller than the V4 version. Anyway, tried a Diavel V4....lovely, very comfortable. The seat is wide and plush. Your feet are almost directly below you, but still seem to have enough height in the seat that your knees are not complaining. You sit in the bike, so wind blast is less than a SF. You can cruise along, or you can blast it. Only negatives are the cost and the horrible exhaust. The stock exhaust also weighs a lot. But, no way would pay the 5k for the race exhaust - just crazy money. There are now low-mileage demonstrators available for approximately 20k. Also, some used and fully kitted machines coming on to Autotrader and into Ducati dealers, bikes with under 3k miles on them and all the goodies. Some (lucky) people buy them as 2nd or 3rd bikes. If you can afford that, you can probably afford all the bits. My local Ducati dealer just sold one with 9k of extras.
