  1. Picked this puppy up at auction a couple of weeks ago and off to Aragon next week.

Belts, fluids, tyres and suspension set-up done and a quick warm up in the mobile workshop :D

Hopefully will get the gearing right for that long straight.

I will try and share some more from the track.

  2. Niiiiiicce mate! would love to see more write ups on this bike and how you get on with it.

That's a properly trick bit of kit.

  3. Who doesn’t love a bike being revved with cold oil?

Apart from the visible stuff (tank, exhaust, radiator, dash, k-tech), what’s the spec that makes this an RS?

  4. It started life as an R, bought to compete in 2006 Super Sport in JHP run Lloyds British team.
This meant adding the RS package. I am not precisely sure what this package included as it was a while ago, but radiator, exhaust, data logger, idle adjuster and who knows what inside to make it spin up like that.
    Previous owner claimed 150 RWHP.

  5. I assume a valve train that's got SO much overlap and so much duration on the cams that the service intervals are nearer 500-1000 miles? Isn't your 748 an RS spec also? I assume that's constantly needing valve clearances checked?

  6. Yes Phil, the 748 is an RS. It gets fresh oil/filters, but also belts and clearances check after every track visit.

  7. @Paul55 My 04 749R has the “749R 04 Racing plus Kit 96444404B” fitted. This is basically the heads, cams, valves, 57mm Termi, filters and ecu part of what you have.
If you’re interested, I have the specific installation manual for the kit I have and a full maintenance manual for “749R Kit 04” 914.7.057.1A. It includes details of the dash that you have.
These are pdfs so I could send them.

  9. Yes it was. I bought it from that guy who bought it from JHP.

  10. Thank you, that might be useful. We couldn’t find a starter button, until we tried the on/off on the left handle bar. Now looking for the kill switch

  11. Woof that looks (and sounds) like a bundle of fun, enjoy.

  12. This gear lever looks pure Corse to me.

  13. The battery is hiding under there and that plumbing looks special.

  14. We think that black box on the left is the lean angle sensitive kill switch.

  15. ECU behind the headstock. Electrical connectors are those cylindrical military type.
