‘93 750ss - Opinions?

  1. Agree with a lot of the sentiments, but think you should hunt for a 900 in similar condition.

  2. A bit late to this, sorry.
I noticed the same bike, not too far from me either. No cam belts fitted and the right side fairing held on by a couple of fixings, I wonder why?. Can't see any belt covers?. If the engine turns over, and the stanchions aren't rusty, then as has been mentioned, worth an offer. My 600ss was in much worse condition cosmetically, and has cleaned up really well. I think I would agree with the other contributers, it will cost you more to put right than it's worth.
If you look at the other stuff the guy has for sale, it leads me to believe he perhaps buys stuff from estate sales or at auctions?, which is of course no problem.
I like the 750, to me it's the best of both worlds?, a bit faster than the 600, and easier and slightly smoother to ride than the 900?. The 900 is always the one to go for however as far as value is concerned I would think?.
    Only my opinion.
    Alan.

  3. In the current market, the 900 is more valuable, but as the bikes get scarcer you may well find that the 750 gains in value simply because it's the optimum SS, so in time will become the most desirable. This tends to happen in the car world, where the highest performance variants are the ones to hold value to begin with, but the "best" compromise is usually the one that wins the value battle in the end

  4. Having a bit of a ‘mare with my Hypermotard 821 which is displaying “errors” on the dash! The 750 idea is sidelined at the mo’.

  6. The vendor has declined to email any better quality images of the elements I’d want to check. Variously, as identified by folks here, fork stanchions, fairing panels et al
Which makes me reluctant to bother further.
