Just wanted to gauge if there was any interest in some Minichamps models? A friend is moving house and she discovered a load in her loft that her husband must have bought (he died a few years ago). I'm not sure what she has but there is a Ducati 996 John Reynolds British Superbike Champion 2001 and a Carl Fogerty 916 plus a couple of others? I can get more/better pictures of them if anyone is interested. I might have the Rossi ones but we have no idea what they are worth. She also has a lot of car models as well, some from other makers. Some of the cars were ones he used to race.
it's always down to timing isn't it, the Brooklands Auto Italia day has just passed and there is always a row of model sellers there, which could have been a quick off-load albeit at trade prices, alternatively could have set up on a stand depending how many etc etc. Quite a few lovelies in there.
I think she's just looking for an easy way to sell them, just thought the Ducati ones might be of interest to people on her.
As you may be aware some of the boxed products command some interesting prices on eBay. It may be your best option either individually or as a job lot. A little research on ended listings on there might give you a better indication of value.
Have a look at finished auctions on eBay, that will give you a good idea of what they are worth, I have a few minichamps models in a cabinet, I have the Fila Hodgson Ducati that is in yr pic, I know that will fetch a good price ! by the looks there are a few desirable ones in that lot.
I've done some ebay research on models that have actually sold. These are the models that are available: All of these are in the original boxes and packaging, not opened on the ones I've seen. Ducati 996 John Reynolds British Superbike Champion 2001 (NOW SOLD) Prices achieved £72 and £63.10 https://shorturl.at/fzADH https://shorturl.at/aCKS0 Ducati 996 Neil Hodgson INS Superbike 2000 (NOW SOLD) Price achieved £70 https://shorturl.at/chvxP Ducati 996 World Championship Superbike 1999 Carl Fogarty (NOW SOLD) Prices achieved £75 and £52.60 https://shorturl.at/elnSU https://shorturl.at/jsxAD Neil Hodgson Team Fila Ducati 999R WSB Team 2003 (NOW SOLD) Confirmed this is the Neil Hodgson bike Prices achieved £75 and £62 https://shorturl.at/cvHIM https://shorturl.at/mnBLU How does £45 each plus postage seem reasonable?
Chris (@Twin4me) you've been very busy. Hope the the sale of models goes well for your friend given the circumstances.
I would probably contact a collector as some of them can command some very high prices, it might make sense to get them valued
Whilst I agree my friend just wants to sell them to people who want them rather than worry about getting the highest price.
I’ve picked these up to send off and they are all immaculate, they look like they haven’t been out of the packaging. Two Neil Hogeson ones left and open to offers (although the price quoted seems fair given my research).
The prices might have dropped recently, but some of those models are very rare!! They were all £40 when brand new, but as a for instance, I paid £500 for a 1999 Corser (I know you haven't got a Corser)....the Foggy one is worth good money as is the INS Hodgson & Reynolds.
Thanks I appreciate the advice but I think my friend wants them to go to good homes and as she’s moving she needs them gone and can’t be bothered with all the eBay faff. Feel free to offer more if you want to
