Hi there,I'm getting my swingarm powder coated does anyone know what bearings fit? It's for a 1996 750SS with the steel swingarm, also will a swingarm off a 2001 injection 750 fit my 750 carb model?( they look the same) thanks in advance. Gary
Hi there, thanks for answering, what I would like to do is buy another swingarm and get it powder coated so I can just swop it for mine, the reason I asked about the IE ones is that's all that seem to be for sale at a reasonable price I can't seem to find a carb model one cheap enough. Cheers Gary.
Just supposing an IE one will fit, I think you will have to do something abiut the shock at least...........the IE shock is longer than the carbed SS one......... The only think I can tell you to check between the carbed and IE ones, is measure the internal width across the pivot points, in other words, as though you were measuring the width of the engine at the pivots. There are basically two types of carbed SS ally swingarms.........the early one with the shallow depth brace and the deeper brace on the later one.......generally everything between them and the steel swingarm are interchangeable althought it is preferable to obtain the longer pivot spindle with it so you can use the retaining circlips........the steel swingarm spindle will have the circlip grooves, but it is the same length as the shorter ally swingarm spindle. The shorter no circlip spindle was the earlier OEM job for the ally swingarm.......so I thought there was no reason as to why I shouldn't use my steel swingarm spindle and keep and eye on it. Be aware that several carbed ally swingarms have cracked......... AL
