Afternoon all, looking to gather info on the brand and the little things that come with ownership experience to hopefully smooth the way on the new bike. No pics yet I’m afraid. Due at the end of the month. any views - On the standard Vs Akra exhaust? - Battery drain issues if fitting tracker and Ducati alarm? (Have to tracker for insurance cover!) Thanks in advance.
Welcome lanky, my biketrac if i wasn't using the bike needed a battery charge (2-3hours on bike) every 2-3 weeks. Get yourself a set of recharge cable fitted for easy of use depending on what you use or what want to use. The rally is indeed an upgrade over the v4 imho with large tank range. Be interesting depending on how you run it in & ride to see the best/regular milage range.
This reminds me of a small project for batteries, having a small length of tinned copper with two drilled holes. Fit main part to battery so that those connections are not needed to be removed & the other end offers easy of fitting of other items without ever needing to disconnect the charge from the bikes brains. Only downside is if someone "crosses the beam"..you know but something on the wrong way around.
Thanks for the info. Should be using mine regularly for work and when not in use will tucked away with Optimate attached. Just checking out the info as bizarrely the dealer said having both might be an issue!? As long as I can tour in confidence the bike won’t be more than 3 or 4 days normally without being ridden or plugged into the Optimate but their comments gave me cause for concern!
A known issue for biketrac is if the kit can't find a gps signal it goes into a higher seek mode. So that's how it drains batteries, if left in an underground carpark it might go into such a situation.
