  3. The M9 RR's are unbeatable. And I've tried almost every bloody sports touring tyre there is. This pair have done 2 10 day spain trips, one of which had Italian alps on the return journey home (North of Amsterdam). I don't travel light with the top box on as well, even when pushing it, those tyres give perfect feedback at all times. However they can be a little slippery when cold, but what tyre isn't...

Best tyres for the multi in my opinion.

  4. Epic 2 weeks bike trip with my two closest buddies, from Northern Ireland to England to meet up then of to France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and back to France before returning home. Only 6 weeks to go. :)

  5. I put them on my Monster and then on my new Suzuki at the time - did that straight away from new with the new bike. They transformed the Suzuki that had some kind of cheap Dunlops on it when new.

  6. So what sort of mileage do you reckon they're lasting for. Two trips from Amsterdam to Spain and back via indirect route. Sounds like a good 5,000 miles/8,000 kilometers or more?

  7. I've not really kept an eye on it, right now there is maybe a mil or 2 before the centre indicator nubs.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  8. Staying in misano ( hotel vanni) in July and then will use train to travel up to imola for wsb, was at imola once and loved it, an amazing track.
I'd love to visit ferrari again but not sure it's doable on public transport .

  12. If you venture a little further South they have less of a presence but are still active along major A roads.

  13. The roads and scenery take your mind off the distances though because once you’re past the urbanised Central Belt and you run out of motorway, it’s absolutely glorious. I’d recommend doing it in a camper or motorhome and if you have an aversion to midges, waiting until after the first frost, or else you’ll be plagued by the little buggers.

  15. That will be cool. Can't remember ever having been on an Italian train ! That will be good.
Modena has a train station so you might be able to get there to see the Ferrari museum - if it is in Modena.

    Nice one.

Food looks good :D I could eat that right now !

  18. Definitely agreed,on the 'quite a trip'...
Just hope we've not bitten off more than we can chew lol
But extensively travelled through Europe over the years, and the guys I travel with are always up for a challenge.

As for the Grossglockner, this is open early May,and as toll roads go,looks pretty damn impressive.
That said,I've tried and failed the Stelvio Pass in May before,so fingers crossed for June.
Return leg, also looking at the Ace Cafe in Luzern,Switzerland.....
As for some reason I want an Ace cafe teeshirt, and an opinion if its better visually than the one we have situated by the A406.
Although Ace cafe London, has absolutely amazing kippers lol

Will defo upload some pics !!

  19. Sounds good. Never been to Alicante so can't help with any comment on good roads. But hey its Alicante Spain so can't be bad !

A cool combo - a camper van and a motorcycle on a trailer. Rather than sleeping in the back of a Transit on a mattress next to the bike ! Heaven !

That will be good fun with riding buddies. It will be a laugh !

And thank you - you have given me an idea. The Ace Cafe in Luzern, Switzerland. I will be in that part of Switzerland in early June so might include the Ace Cafe on route into or out of the country - and get a T-Shirt as well !

I have never tried the Stelvio but did the Grossglockner in 2014 on the little Honda VFR. I was lucky - it was July, all clear, and not a cloud in sight. I am sure there were some pictures of the bike next to ice and snow (even in July) but cannot find them !

It will be good to see your pictures from you trip :upyeah:

  20. Will defo post some pics, and no doubt one of them in a Ace cafe teeshirt lol
Unfortunately I'm not in Switzerland to the end of June,or I'd have passed through for a beer.

Also,I looked at your original post, and it said about potentially you are heading north to the MotoGP at the end of your trip.
If this is still the case, check out Motorradcafé Die Kurve, just past Hanover,as this will be on your route home.
As we popped in onroute to Noway last year, and defo worth a visit, with like minded crazy bikers !!
Hope this helps sway ya destination...
