Yesterday I cycled 36.6 Km around the Beaujolais region. Today I did 37km with friends around Luberon region in Provence. Spectacular doesn’t describe it. View attachment 294331
I noticed the pair of blackbirds that are nesting in the hedge by my back door were alarm calling and very distressed earlier, a rat had been in the nest and killed all 3 chicks that were days from fledging. I know it’s nature and all that but I’ve watched them from day one of building the nest upto now, I’m absolutely gutted for them and obviously I’m very over invested in those blackbirds.
I’ve been watching a magpie dunking stale bread into the pond to make it easy to tackle. There’s around four softening pieces in there now.
Rode to work today as it was a beautiful morning, knocked off early as it was a perfect biking day, 74 miles done on the way home, even though my work is only 19 miles from home.
Rode from Coleraine to Rosslare, what a pleasure. The roads on both sides of the border are better than in Hampshire, Wiltshire & Dorset. We even saw proper asphalt being used in the republic ! The road surface had been ground away and more than the 1/2” of wearing coarse was being rolled, how good is that.
Cleaned the house top to bottom, reorganised some bits in the garage, went to Halfords and bought 5L of snowfoam, took my niece’s 6yo daughter a birthday present, came home and made tea. Now settling down to watch the mighty Boro in the playoff semi final vs Coventry. After the match I’m heading up to Northumberland for a couple of days
Melting, mainly. 36 outside and set to reach 38, feels like about 42 or 43. Supposed to get to 39 in the next day or two. Problem is that it doesn't really cool down at night, stays in the high 20s.
So I made the noob of noob fuck ups today lol, no idea what *wasn’t going through my head. Went to take the bike out the front door and forgot to take the chain off the back wheel. Of course I thought it was the step that was holding me back until the chain guard snapped off and it twigged. To make things worse I put my back out trying to lift the bike back straight and am currently up to my eyes on codeine phosphate tabs. Twat and bag.
No thankfully. I have a spare mint replacement from my old 899 which is also handy. My back says otherwise rn though. When did I get old ffs?
Found this a while back Needs a new chain seat and pedals otherwise it seems good to go. Going to donate it to my bike mad sister-in-law
