..just not happening mate, we’re here for a good time, not a long time, I’ll sit still when I snuff it
Great bar meal here tonight.. St Ebba’s church,…before Seriously..! St Ebba’s church,….after Nice little couple of days away camping and walking and talking to my mate, now laying in the tent and listening to gentle rain tapping on the flysheet, ..great sound to lull you off to sleep
Yeah ‘found’ I came across a Brompton some time back but I decided to keep that one Just love it’s well engineered funky design
So, took the day off yesterday to take the RSV4 up to AP workshops for a valve check....Griff did a quick start of the engine to take an initial listen and screwed his face up and said "shit you need the cam chain tensioners changed....we cant do that today" so rode all the way back home again....cant get it booked in til late july as theyre stacked out so that takes the RSV4 out of the TT trip this year which leave the z1000 (took that last year) or the Hyper 1100.... Z1000: took that last year and it was great. But i really do like "Italian night" in Port St Erin (i think it is...port st something anyway) nice to be on something italian...but the zed is smooth, comfy and reliable. Hyper: Never been on this one but the last time i did it take one (an 1100s) it totally ran out of steam on the mountain and topped out at 130....but, its italian and while its not the fastest thing in the world fuck me it makes some noise which would be fun! - bit of an oil leak underneath but nothing bad (i think the generator crankcase needs re-sealing) and sometimes its a bit of a pain to start when its hot..but thats about it. Decisions decisions...
Last day of my camping jaunt and we like to finish with a good walk, Boulmer to Craster and back, about 8 miles and the weather was fantastic for us today Quick stop at RAF Boulmer….. Coorrr!….. Arty-Farty, “ Bluebells between Boulmer and Craster” shot … Fantastic coastline here, Dunstanburgh castle in the distance.. What a view from the beer garden of The Jolly Fisherman Craster harbour… And the old smokehouse, the smell of Kippers coming out of here was unbelievable …either that or my walking socks needed changing !! Weather was really good to us today, face is a bit red great few days away on a really picturesque coastline …..1hr 30 mins home,..missing it already !
My kids great grandparents lived in Embleton their whole lives - they’re now dead unfortunately. We used to love visiting, it’s such a beautiful part of the UK. Embleton is a pleasant walk along the coast from Craster.
Today I lashed a backpack to the pillion of the monster, gave my wife a goodbye hug and rode pretty much straight north for 230 miles to the Ben Loyal Hotel in the village of Tongue. Not done much in the way of photos yet, soz DB, but will sort that tomorrow.
After the debacle that was the A34 and M40 yesterday, it took 6 hours to drive to Donington from Newbury, spent 10 hours track side at Foggy Esses, melting in an orange boiler suit. Another long day tomorrow. Andy
Helped dig a deep hole. 1200 down to footings, followed by another 800mm so far to try and get to bottom of footing, more to go on Monday.
Mine’s up for renewal next month as well. I may have to modify my other thread, to recommend some travelodge hotels in France!
