I started a Pilates class a couple of months ago. I hate it. I mean I fucking hate it. I walk out the class and my whole week is ruined because I think, “oh no! I’ve got Pilates next week”. But it’s done me a lot of good.
Another 10 hours trackside at Donington. Blue sky, sunshine and a welcome cooling breeze. A busy day and some crazy racing. Andy
Been out on the bike and met friends in Hawes before riding to Kirby Stephen and Sedburgh then coming home the scenic way. I did 277 miles door to door When I got home I put the bike away then headed off to Screw Fix to pick up an order I’m now watching the footy and contemplating what to make to eat this evening
Did a few miles on the 899, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to how hot these bikes run. Got back and cleaned it along with my Mt09 then knocked up a new planter for the garden, backs killing me now
As my RSV4 is now off the cards for a TT visit this year ive gotta get either the Z uptogether or the Hyper....so made a start on the zed today, oil and filter change along with a fresh set of plugs. Next on the list is to take the daily tyres off (continentals) off and get some stickier rubber on (got a spare brand new v3 supercorsa front in the garage roof) so ill be getting a 200 section supercorsa v4 rear on order. Still undecided on which one to take (hyper or z) but its needed some attention after going through the winter as my daily driver.
It’s not the temperature from sitting on it, I’ve never found that very noticeable, it’s the temperature gauge. Normal riding along it’s 85-90c then stop at traffic lights and it’s straight up to 100-105c, never known a bike like it!
Good hoon with 3 mates today, well the weather was so good it’d be rude not to! Just short of 200 miles by the time I got home. A few observations from today’s ride… Most popular bike on the road by far,….1250GS’ssss absolutely loads of em, all with 3 tin boxes on covered in “Dakar” stickers and extra fuel bottles strapped on just to go to Hawes for a scone ,.. I don’t get it ? Second most popular bike today,…..Royal Enfields ! tons of them out for some reason today, dentists will be busy tomorrow replacing all those fillings ! Least popular bike today,…..any sportsbike! .. I think I saw about 4 sportsbikes all day and all of those were pretty old sad how they have declined. Driving standards,…absolutely abysmal, jeez I can’t believe that some people have been given a license, some of them can’t work an indicator let alone a car, one girl caused a traffic jam on a narrow country road because she had no idea how wide her car was, she had 6 foot between her and the near side kerb and just wouldn’t move over to let oncoming traffic past and then you get the ones just out for a slow scenic bimble,….like 34mph in a 60 mph limit, with about 6 cars stuck behind them absolutely seething ! Thank god we were on the bikes,..downshift, twist, gone ….rant over
@Zeus go back and have a read of my comments in this thread, post no 104 https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/wanted-low-mileage-red-899-with-underslung-termi.95028/page-6 First thing I would do is take the side panel off and check the coolant level, not just the overflow header tank, take the cap off the radiator and check the level in that as well
oh dear, what have i done. nope, i didnt kill the wabbit. i took the daughter out on the back of the fugly after suggesting it to her assuming she would decline. just a short run down to the beach and back. she loved it. i aint gonna get any peace now am i? i also learned that those old air cooled engines run quite well with two of the four HT leads disconnected. doh.
Baffling to me too, but it’s just image isn’t it really which is found across the whole spectrum of motorcycle riders.
To be fair, they're a good, reliable and easy to ride bike, but the whole panniers for a Sunday ride out baffles me too.
A nice walk with the wife and dogs this morning. A couple of jobs and sorting stuff in the camper ready for next week's trip away. A couple of hours out on a bike this afternoon. A decent day all round.
