Hi all, I'm back with Ducati after 10 long years. After selling my 1098s I spent long time searching 749/999r and after long search there is year2004 749r in garage. Next winter I will go through whole bike and restore it back to original shape. Br, Raine from Finland
Hi, Full image of bike below. There is a eventful history with this bike. Been original in England, then one summer as trackbike and 11years in storage. Next winter this will be dismantled and everything will be checked. Also 54/57mm full banana type of termignoni is in search
I'm intrigued why 9 family. Nothing wrong with them by this statement, just why not 8 family or the 10s. I'm interested in why people go for certain eras weather it be looks, sound, performance or easy to work on? I'm 1098r man by hart but money's not there yet, "next year Rodders, next year".
That's interesting and good question! Answer goes back to year 2004 when I just had my driving license and I was looking for first bike. I remembered been in Ducati shop with my friend and there I saw a new 749r. That time bike seemed to be so high priced and out of reach but at same time everything I wanted from bike; Special, design like out of space and capable to go track one or two times a year. So for me it's not a matter of having latest technology or having fastest bike. In fact there is nothing sensible with this 749r. For me this model has always been the one I want to have since 2004. I had also a stubborn idea to have a 749r model 2004 with carbon fairing and exact original condition like the bike in Ducati shop at year 2004
