Windy Pick

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Davey Armstrong, May 30, 2023.

  1. Hi everyone, so I’ve had my v4s for a good while now , and love it, but I find when going through villages or keeping to 30 limits etc, it’s like riding a windy pick !! Im having to go down to second or even 1st gear which is a pain, as my pals are happily bimbling along comfortably in 4th 5th etc !! Any one solved this problem? Please share your methods. Cheers

  4. Although I have not heard of anyone dropping 1 tooth on the front sprocket or going up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket, that is an option. You can’t compare the Ducati V4 to any other bike, especially a JIL4, the power delivery is way different. Surprised you have an issue, the V4 is much smoother than the V2 at 30mph but neither are that happy in 3rd at such low revs. It’s typical Ducati sir. Andy

  11. Only experienced this on my KTM until I fitted throttle spacers that took away the snatchy throttle response I experienced in slow moving traffic through built up areas. Sticking it in Rain mode also helped but was a little PITA to swap between riders modes.

Is it in out the showroom door trim or has it been tweaked in some way?

  12. Ducati.
Also Italian for ‘not to be used in town’.
    Your welcome.

  13. Ha ha !! It’s the thing that was used to dig up your street back in the day, it had a big air pipe attached to a mobile compressor

  14. Yeah it has throttle spacers, full akro with map etc etc !! It just gets to be a pain, at 30mph through villages, full beans and on track it’s faultless, but sometimes you have to go slow

  15. Oh dear, I’ve no idea why you have this issue, my MV has none of the issues you experience with its SC exhaust and remap. Perhaps your service dealer could help you resolve the issue unless ‘they all do that sir’ is the only answer.
