Sorted out my packing/luggage for the weekend up in Scotland and strapped it to the bike ready for an early’ish start in the morning. Arranged to meet #1 son and family in the hotel tomorrow evening. Changed the bedding, washed the old bedding, cleaned the house top to bottom and watered the plants. It’s all go at ET Towers!* *except the bit when I had a snooze on the sofa this afternoon
Still out on the boat but will start heading back tomorrow I think. A bit of a wasted trip really as the day we left I realised I’d picked up something from a coughing all over me customer so I’ve been too ill to do anything other than sit on the boat feeling shit. I’d already bought the licenses I needed otherwise I’d have turned back earlier.
Visited castle Eltz, a couple of coffee and cake stops also. Nice dinner outside at a lovely little restaurant by the river. Will get working it off as soon as we are back home.
After my post yesterday saying it was back together I’ve got it out and cleaned it and polished it. Much better!!!!
It’s just a bad cough, strange because I never get ill and the wife’s a teacher so she brings all the diseases home but I never catch them.
Been up to London. Apparently there’s a train strike, but I will not let the peasants into first class. It’s like a scene from Shaun of the Dead in there.
After two odd years ownership with the LR series 2, i thought i'd replace the front brake shoes, cylinders & hoses after having no brakes apart from the handbrake, also removed all the original seats and spares from the rear section only to find this lovely petrol can hiding in the corner.
Set off from home at 7.30am yesterday to go to Scotland. 12 hours later after seeing some beautiful scenery and a few unexpected delays (why are there no petrol stations open in dumfries?) We landed at our destination. The weather was gorgeous
Collected my project's tank & seat base from the painter yesterday. Things of beauty now, that I'm afraid to touch - never mind actually fit on the bike. They're too good!
