(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. What day are you crossing over? We're off to Germany via the chunnel on Thursday morning next week. Have a great trip. Need to update my Garmin this week too, thanks for the reminder.

  2. Thursday as well. I’m riding round on Wednesday night, as there’s a cracking B&B about five minutes from the terminal. That way I can let the rush hour go, and have a relaxing ride in the evening, rather than the carnage of rush hour Thursday morning. Oh, and I get to have a full English before the crossing too!

  4. Have done that before, good strategy. Have a mate near Maidstone but this time we're staying with one if the other guys we're riding with. This is in Essex which isn't ideal as far as I'm concerned but got outvoted. Plan is to get up and leave early but still going to be bad for traffic I reckon... You'll probably be in the chunnel before us and far more relaxed and fresh for the ride on the other side to boot.

We'll be three bikes; Multistrada, 996 and a VFR.

  5. We did the day before malarky on our last trip because someone decided just one puncture could have us there late.

    Load of codswallop!

    Someone got a puncture :D

To be fair, took less that 15 mins to plug and off we went. I don't see the need of adding an extra day in this country though.

  6. I anticipate that the ride from Gloucestershire to Essex isn't going to be great... I'm not taking responsibility, leaving the planning of that up to my mate as I've planned everything else.

  7. A bit of rearranging this morning, getting bikes out of the house in preparation for dropping them off for service tomorrow and collecting the bikes that are being serviced today. Bit of a squeeze but they just fit :D The R6 is still in the dining room though :joy: Andy

  8. Organised a 525, 15F/43R sprocket conversion kit for my road going Multistrada. I've had no issues with the 530, 14F/40R sprocket combination I currently have but I think I'm beginning to prefer the response of my track Multistrada set up. Given the mileage I do, if I'm wrong, I can change back soon enough. Andy

  9. I think my crossing is about half 10. I didn't want to leave early, as this is going to be a chilled trip.

  13. Fitted Evotech crash bobbins to the Pikes Peak. Hopefully I’ll never use them.

  14. The beginning of the end :( the 748R is going for new belts and the V4 Speciale Magnesio is going for an annual service. Both are booked in for an MoT next week and then they will get a full valet before being photographed for listing in Autotrader. I've prevaricated far too long and it is time for someone else to enjoy them. Andy

  17. @Android853sp No idea how that happened Andy. Must've not been paying attention to what I was doing.

Pity I don't live closer, the 748R is a beaut!

  18. Best of luck with the sales Andy, I really miss my Speciale (totaled) I have been putting off selling a couple of mine as well. Your post might be the kick in the arse I need to get moving.

  19. Rebuilt lads front forks with new seals, repainted the lowers from Silver to Matt Black, put new chain and sprockets on, brake pads and new front wheel bearings. It’s now ready for its MOT Monday ready for its impending sale due to an Aprilia MX125 inbound.

It’s been absolutely faultless throughout his ownership with only wear and tear to indicators needing work. He’s loved riding it to school and back as it’s allowed him to come home between long breaks in his studies. Hopefully his best memories of the bike are our excursions out to the deepest of the deep Welsh countryside.
