Has anyone got one they would care to sell me? I have tried to find one everywhere with no luck. I even bought one with a collection of pins of different sizes to try that, but none of them fit even remotely. I wanted to get a Harris one to match the others, or Ducati one to match the rear stand, but no-one seems to make one with the right size pin to fit into the bottom of the forks. Mine are the standard 848 Showa forks. Doesn't anyone who races the 848 challenge know where to get one? Other than the Pierobon ones which are a million quid! Thanks, Ian
any idea where from? that is rather the point of my looking for one that either will fit, or if someone knows where to get one made. They have to fit the stand, and the bike, and not entirely sure where to even look to find a metal fabricator in London. The ones they supply are too small rather than too large, so you can't just get one of the ones supplied turned down.
I've got one of these. You don't need a pin as such due to the plate supplied. It works on my 748 and is a very sturdy solid piece of kit. Should last a lifetime. FS11/D Motorcycle Front (headstock) Paddock Stand
Maybe Radihead's had better luck than me with the ABBA. Don't get me wrong its a great stand for the rear I used it to remove my swinging arm. When I tried to jack the bike to raise the front the only place I could see was near the filter at the front and I think it was too near the ABBA. The bike became very unstable. I think ABBA state that you can't raise the front with the stand with Ducatis. Of course somebody will now come along with a picture of it all off the ground  John
How much bigger diameter pin do you need? I have used copper(plumbing) tube to sleeve things like that. Wall thickness is about 1mm, you can cut a section out vertically with hacksaw for correct dia, dress the sleeve round then solder it together(on gas stove with plumbers solder and flux) for permanent job. I'm a plumber in Brentwood if you want me to have a go. Keith. .
I've still got my 916 front stand, this was a very simple stand that went under the front forks, it's been sat unused for 12 years plus however I've had a quick look & it looks like it'll fit my 848. I've just not been brave enough to try it yet!
Hi Jock. I've had the bike up several times on the Abba stand. The only issue I found is that I need to call the lady of the house out to put the strap on the rear wheel while I lift the front?... All quite easy when you get the knack of it and very sturdy...
Hi Radihead Are you strapping the backwheel down to some ground mounted attachment and using the ABBA as the pivot point? I looked at that idea myself and thought it would work, unfortunately I don't have anything that I could use. I forgot all about that idea, thanks for reminding me John
I had a cheapy one from ebay, that german guy, which fitted ok with a track fairing but fouled the road fairing as it sits too high, it also was a bit close to the mudguard. I thought it was a harris one I borrowed at the track when changing my fork height and tbhit worked well enough have you tried one?
ChamMTB, surprised that in one of the biggest cities on earth you can't find a fabricator able and willing to do the job? They may not be on Park Lane or on Leicester Square, you may have to look a bit further than google. If you send me the dimensions I could make one for you.
Thats genius. I have both the abba and the strap. Plus I need to remove my front wheel next weekend. Thanks.
No problem. I can't get the front up on my own so have to call the other half out to put the strap on while I lift the front... Sounds a bit porny that!!
