Needed to go to Tiverton (about 80mls) to pick up something for the Triumph project. Ah, I thought, this is what I bought the Beemer for a couple of years ago - dull trips with some motorway miles to do. Got there to closed doors!! Last Friday we'd agreed that they'd be there on Tuesday afternoon, not today. Yes - wanker/twat/old-idiot just about cover it. I won't bother with a poll.... At least it was more hours on the BM than I've done all year to date - and it was sunny Tomorrow I get to do it again too Edit: Oh, and the Tiverton place I get the flat-tracker stuff from is Redmax. Steve there also has a few 851 & 888 race bikes for me to drool over and they also build Ducati custom bikes... https://www.redmax-ducati.co.uk/851-888-corsa-section.php https://www.redmax-ducati.co.uk/redmax---building-ducati-specials.php
Phoned to insure the new bike and nearly had a heart attack !! £180 for the R1 ,£300 for the V4r so was expecting about 400 max for the new one! Oh no! £1100!
Cleaned the MV finally, been meaning to do it for a while. Trying to get to the v4 pani this week as well.
Been there, done that with the NC29. Had it stripped to pull the fuel pump out before I realised Andy
Kill switch or the launch button was On, petcock lever On but low on juice so i'd try reserve position. I'll now check the points again as i found some GBH in the tool box for the removal of the stator cover screws.
Love this story line/theme. The late great Crystal John stopped to get some petrol once and couldn't get his bike started and so called out breakdown, you both know what it was. I roadtested a 900 SSIE for a mate to try and diagnose an acceleration problem. Later on, he decided to go home before us and couldn't get the bike started and came over and told us all. Turns out he never used the kill switch but was a key only man.
It is, funny image of XH sweating and swearing profusely……..you gotta laugh at that but not that his old aching limbs are letting him down with his advancing years obvs.
Yes you can convert them for a few hundred pounds, but it's 1970's motorcycle , so perhaps that's cheating in most peoples book.
Do you have a photo or explanation what you did? I'm suffering with brake binding/overheating on my 748, and the return spring is missing.
A couple of freebies for others today and for me i changed the lift pump on the Series 2 today, but it made no difference with the running, is was only £30 delivered so back to the drawing board. I'm not having a lot of luck on three vehicles with issues at the minute.
Shortly setting off to Portsmouth for overnight ferry and 7 days of beautiful France, to include beautiful roads, food, scenery , weather, ladies/she, tranquility and weather.
