Yeah they never really caught peoples imagination when they came out but they are very good bikes. Most of the bikes I see coming up for sale in the last few years have been Japanese imports, I don’t think that many U.K. bikes exist. It’s the one I’d go for out of the RD RG.
Was my first proper bike, looks like a mini-Monster and I remember all the big bikes used to nod once I got the L plates off.
That did look lovely. It's gone - I sold it to a mate (below market price so that I could finance another project but still perhaps ride it occasionally). He sadly passed shortly afterwards and his estate sold it. Last I heard it has been entered into a race series at BMCRC but was looking somehwat less immaculate and sported race fairings.
If I remember correctly they were only ruined by a slightly strange looking exhaust, wasn't it chromed or something? and a funny shape. I remember the HOURS I used to put into looking through magazines with RS125/Cagiva Mito 125's in when I was 16; I know it probably sounds sad but I wish I could feel the sort of gut wrenching excitement for bikes like I did then, not sure if I'm alone in that or if it's something everyone goes through.
I've had this little Honda NSR250R-SP a few years now, it's stupidly good fun. Currently got the engine out for full rebuild, and rejetting - Recently remembered how much i hate having to tinker with carbs and fuelling issues. Wheels are returning to white, and i've got CBR600RR upside down forks going on, along with single-sided swingarm conversion and new fairing at some point this year.
