  1. Hi, I'm new to the forum. Last year I bought myself the poster bike I had on my wall as a teenager. A Red Ducati 996 Biposto on a 2002 plate. Only 3900 miles. I'm wanting to find some replacement panels. The little carbon bit below the tank are cracked. Anyone any ideas of a part number or anyone who makes/sells them? Looking forward to reading through the threads on the forum. I'm in South Yorkshire. If you're local give me a shout. Always up for a ride out.

  7. Welcome.
When you say the little carbon bit below the tank is cracked - do you mean the air box sides?

  8. Welcome into our mad house
Get those broken bits in the bin :D we like pics of bins

  9. Whatever these bits are. I didn't realise that was the airbox. They're really flimsy bits if trim and yes both sides are cracked.

  10. Those are indeed integral to the airbox*

*unless you have race replica removable ones but they normally have two visible dzus fasteners attaching them.

  11. Once you take off the tank, the rest of the airbox will reveal itself. Very cool design, like many other components on these bikes. You can buy a similar carbon (or red OEM) airbox on eBay and probably many other sites. Not cheap, however.

    Also, welcome!

  12. My money is on them being flimsy stick on tat that will pull off with a bit of effort.

  13. Yeah I think they've been stuck over the original red airbox. Think I need to keep my eyes peeled for a nice carbon airbox.

  15. Hi Kevin, I'm in Wath-Upon-Dearne. Went for a ride out to Bridlington yesterday on my Triumph with a mate who lives at Goldthorpe. We go to Squires Cafe for bike night whenever we're both free. Brid us a bit too far for me on my 996.....lol

  16. 996 first Ducati?
There will be many on here thinking “wow, if only I had been so lucky”.
    I started with a 250 Mk III, in a box.Took me forty-six years to finally get a 996 :(

  17. Nice shiny bike. Like it.
