  1. Reminiscent of the time Picasso moved away from family portraits to concentrate on the abstract, only less subtle

  2. Good to know. I’ve been toying with one, but the suspension was a thought, as I’d prefer Ohlins when spending that sort of money.

  4. It isn’t the stop/start that’ll kill the mini DPF only travelling 1,000 metres won’t even get that car luke warm. AFAIK diesels are at their most efficient when fully hot, for journeys that short walking might be considered although I’ll guess that isn’t an option. In which case a Petrol or electric would seem the better option.

Most of those DPD/Evri/ etc are freelancers and will more than likely as I see with a neighbour drive his home it’ll get nice and hot during that journey. The stopping and starting won’t help with engine longevity though which makes the DPF concern a little redundant in so far as S/S.

  5. Had a bloody good yomp in the Lake District, Place Fell plus a couple of extra miles, map of route.. 40586AC4-DFB7-4970-AF1F-BA0BAEF9F2F7.png
My mate chose this route and I think he seriously underestimated it!
On the way up out of Glenridding..

As you can see, it’s boiling hot, Garmin recorded a max of 30.8 degrees C today!
Took some video on the top where it was hellish windy, but can’t post that up!
Back down of the top and making my way along the edge of Ullswater back to Glenridding.,

A bit of a tough one I found, 10.6 miles and 2,452 feet of climbing, got back at 17:50…beer o’clock

That didn’t touch the sides,..so I had another one ( in the sake of rehydration!) and felt totally pissed!
Back on the campsite I spotted this little beauty..

    Time for a gormet dinner..

Frothy coffee, mince pie ( don’t mind if I do :joy:) and a Jamaica ginger cake, which strangely I managed to eat the whole lot like a giant energy bar :D
Great but totally knackering day out, awesome military jet activity as well, at one point some of them were flying lower than where I was standing :astonished: !
Think tomorrow’s walk may be a bit shorter and gentler :upyeah:

  11. thanks to you two for waking me up on the DPF subject, just had a quick swot. I see the "auto stop/start" feature can be automatically suspended during a regen program on some cars Jez, I guess this is on later cars than yours though.

  12. Got the lawns mowed early before it gets hot and now I’m getting the bike out and going for a ride.

  14. A quick 100 mile ride into the Shropshire hills then back through Herefordshire and home, so much grip out there between the potholes and I’m loving the S22’s I’ve swapped to.

  19. Took the MHR for it’s final MOT before it hopefully becomes “historic” tax and MOT status.
It passed, although the engine was never started. Maybe the testers are just nice to old bikes :p

  20. Hi Chris, my mini has what the manufacturers refer to as "comfort settings" (perhaps they all do?). So, if you want the lights & horn to flash when you click the key fob, or the inside lights not to turn on when you get in, or the footwell lights never to turn on, etc etc you set these requirements in the computer and they are triggered by the key. This means you can have multiple set ups depending on how many keys you have for the car - I think to a max of six... You can also program the comfort settings not to ever initiate the stop/ start if you so wish in the same way.

The stop/ start in my car is turned off courtesy of the previous owner. I am happy to leave it that way along with the other settings he/ she liked as I really can't be arsed to change them.

The DPF clean automatically cycles itself on a 2008 Mini. It can also be done whenever you like if you have access to a basic OBD2 scanner, as it is in the menu options, presumably for people to utilise prior to MOT testing.
