Mm Strikes Again

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by John Mac821, Jun 16, 2023.

  1. I've just watched an interview with MM who, when questioned, about taking Zarco out, blamed Zarco for leaving the pits and getting in his way, funny that, only last weekend he left the pits and disrupted Pecco's fast lap, but hey, that was Pecco's fault, not his. The guy is a liability and as long as he gets away incidents like this, he'll continue to injure other riders and trash other bikes. Do we have to wait until he kills another rider before the official's take action?

  2. Totally agree.
All other ‘real’ greats who have been on bikes that were not competitive did not try and ride like tits, risking life and limb every race weekend (their own but more importantly others!)
    For example,
    Rossi
    Lorenzo
    Fabio
All ex world champions…all capable of recognising the bike they were/are on would not win the championship. They have all tested the limit, pushed boundaries…then pulled back a bit. All before they hurt themselves or more importantly others!
Honda have stood by Marc, he HAS been outstanding for them in the past. They have no chance of the championship. Therefore the logical decision for both would be to spend the season developing the bike, instead of going out on track like a grenade with the pin removed.

  3. Zarco's response is “I think we can say it was a racing incident”. He isn't blaming MM

  4. He has had his moments (Zarco) and tbh, despite my views of MM…it was. BUT, the number of racing incidents that involve M M are just a tad higher than everyone else.

  5. Racing incident.
Ridiculous of MM to blame Zarco for anything.
    Thank Christ nobody hurt. Amazingly.

  6. So I suppose you would also say that when MM pulled out of the exit lane and disrupted Pecco's fast lap, it wasn't his fault either? I agree MM is a very talented rider, but I also agree with previous comments, MM is on the worst bike currently on the grid, but rather than excepting that he's riding like an idiot trying to prove that he's the only one how can tame the Honda, but clearly he can't. Rins, Mir and Taka are also very talented riders, and have all suffered due to the bike, but they don't put others in danger, which MM has done all so often and will continue to do, until he suffers another serious injury. I'm afraid despite being a talented rider, he's more of a selfness idiot right now, than a professional rider.

  7. Which is of course the right outcome, in spite of the inevitable hysteria.

  8. I think honestly. MM is coming across a bit of a d*ck with his comments but the reality of the incident is that it’s unlucky, and poor track design, the braking point and apex is late in the corner meaning the riders are out super wide, it’s like Donnington actually but imagine if the blend line at Donnington was even further down into red gate, it would be absolute carnage

  9. You might also have seen Vinales very narrowly miss Alex Marquez in a crash at exactly the same spot.

  10. It’s a tough one as it’s actually the rider leaving the pits responsibility by the book to ensure they are doing so when safe and clear

it is a 100% a racing incident facilitated by a shit design pit exit and a negative camber braking zone drop off. Absolute recipe for a low side.

It’s very easy to throw stones at Marquez. He’s out there riding the wheels off of a crap bike at the moment and his mental state must be taking a battering. You often see people on Facebook with absolutely zero idea of racing commenting and giving him a bashing. One of the funniest has been “why didn’t he go and see if he was okay”…. Which is literally the pole opposite of what you’re supposed to do, Akin to those numpties who stop on a trackday to check on their mates. You’re supposed to get over the tyre wall as quickly and as safely as you can.

Anyway, what we are witnessing here is a guy who’s on the absolute edge, trying to make an uncompetitive bike work. That is motorsport. That is pretty pure in terms of talent and skill.

shit happens when you play in the deep end. And motogp is the deepest of deep ends

I’m not a marquez fan by the way. I am a motorsport fan.

  11. You certainly have to feel sorry for marquez I mean what are the odds that you’re going to have the only shit bike that’s ever been in moto gp.
When you think about it clearly he’s well within his rights to turn it into. 220mph missile and ruin weekends on a weekly basis.
    Poor little love.

  12. FOUR crashes for MM, before we even have the sprint race. Lucky to have a team mates bike in the garage to rob a fairing part. Otherwise 12th on the grid…
Really hope he does not hurt someone this weekend. He is a loose cannon.

  13. I wonder if he uses the shit bike excuse in every day life too.

“Sorry mate, forgot me passport but don’t worry it’s the bikes fault”

“Ah ok Marc thanks for letting us know, on you go”

    Etc…

  14. I agree with a lot of what you say, but in the collision with Zarco, he actually ran past him without even checking on him, the red flags were out so he had plenty of time, even Simon Crafer commented saying his actions were very disappointing & unprofessional, and I think that's the issue, his actions & attitude both on & of track have just been totally unprofessional with a blatant disregard for his fellow riders. Zarco was, quite rightly fuming, but he remind professional and should restraint with his comments. I do think it's only a matter of time before he's injured again, I just hope he doesn't injure any other riders before hand or at the same time.

  15. I hear you, but the rules is rules. Regardless of red flags being out it was still a live track meaning the aforementioned rules apply chap
