Good point well made, but it looked to me like MM ran back towards, or even onto, the track after the incident rather than getting over the tyre wall as quickly as he could. As a multiple world champion you would have thought he’d know the rules. Perhaps disorientated, perhaps going for a fast lap on foot, but as you say, he’s out there riding the wheels off of a crap bike at the moment and his mental state must be taking a battering, which is fine, and probably part of the job description, but the evidence suggests he’s becoming increasingly reckless as a result to the point he’s currently just becoming a menace, which imho, is not so fine. I’m not a Marquez fan, somewhat ambivalent at the moment, but you have to admire what he has achieved, so a bit sad to see the current state of play.
Easy for us to say from our sofas bud Senna used to get shit about this sort of stuff. He is now widely recognised as the greatest formula driver in history
This thread and weekend is the precise reason I cannot fkn wait until the days he retires (or gets retired). Nearly as tedious as that fat gasping gremlin from leeds gobbling him off incessantly on tv.
Yea but MM has you thinking and posting shit about MotoGP , from what crap racing with the odd exception here and there I have seen on x6 for the last few seasons (cannot even watch it live these days, unless I fancy a nap), have to say I only put it on to see if MM has kicked ass and I am 100% not a fanboy, he is just the only rider worth watching, without him the series would be on its arse.
When I think of the holy trinity of MotoGP I think Stoner, Rossi, Marquez. Then there’s the rest. Marquez is the only one left keeping it mildly interesting. But unfortunately the Honda’s a shitter now and he’s tied into a contract for another 18 months. Grim times in MotoGP. After 20 years I’m losing interest….
He was running towards oncoming traffic to warn them, you could see him raise and wave his arms above his head just before the camera cut away.
If he starts winning races and completes the championship next season, you'll be all whistling a different tune.
I would love to know how HRC view things currently. Do they want their rider to extract the best out of the package without risking destroying 4 bikes every weekend, which means bringing the bike home in 7th or 8th if they are lucky. Picking up some championship points along the way but at the same time risk ‘blending in’ with the also rans in terms of coverage. Or do they ask Marquez to extract every last millisecond out of that machine while crashing his brains out in doing so but making headlines along the way. In reality, I doubt they have any say in the matter as Marquez has been bred to do the later whether they want that at this moment or not. Amazing rider, sad to watch him continually smash himself to pieces trying to make up the performance deficit between the Honda and the other manufacturers.
100%. Just watched this mornings motgp warm up session. That is 5 crashes this weekend. He limped away from that one.
Lol you’re kidding right? Most of the riders on the grid today would walk any other championship in the world, there’s no old knackers any more picking up a last payday like there used to be.lap records and top speeds being broken every weekend and more racing than ever with the sprints. If you want to relive what you perceive as the glory days go and watch bsb, there’s plenty to fill your boots with there lol.
don’t agree with that. production and prototype machines are entirely different. You can’t really compare the two. Also, there’s been riders come from gp to domestic series and they’ve been nowhere (and vice versa) Apples and Oranges
