  1. Plus they're not chucking as much money at it like VW/Audi group are I suspect.

  3. True, but Rossi wasn't afraid to take a chance on different bikes, and he was still racing long after the likes of Stoner, Lorenzo, Biaggi, Caparossi, and amany many more great riders had retired. Yes young riders were able to beat him when he was in has late thirties and forties, so you may not like it, but he was and always will be the GOAT in MotoGP. :p

  4. Oh no. We’ve started on the Rossi is the greatest……

  5. Was the greatest.

  6. You are all wrong, Giacomo Agostini is the greatest living motorcycle racer. 15 world championships, 7 on 350cc and 8 on 500cc, 10 TT wins and 1 of only 5 riders to win championships for more than 1 manufacturer. Nuff said :D Andy

  8. Not to denigrate him, but wasn't he riding on works multi cylinder bikes for some of his championships, and the opposition were amateurs on singles?

  9. If you want to jerk yourself off over Rossi- S’ok… He was definitely the Rolex brand of MotoGP. Biggest and most iconic. But that doesn’t mean he was the best ;)

  13. What kind of witchcraft is this? You seem to want to include me as some kind of Rossi fanboi in an entertainment I only have a passing interest in.

I don’t care who is/was a goat or other grazing animal. So no I don’t fanboy any of the former champions.

  15. Ago, was indeed the greatest racer of his time, but he didn't race in the MotoGP era, hence the GOAT in MotoGP. :p

  16. largely in agreement with your posts on here re: MM but not sure what you mean by above? To say point blank something "didn't exist" you'd had to have been there for credibility-achieving starters surely? - for me anyway.

  17.
  18. Absolutely 100%

  19. Only 3 Japanese bikes started in the main race. Never thought I'd see the day. Ducati have pushed us in to an area of racing that they have obviously some technical advantage from Audi but applies more to cars. It just seems to me too far removed from motorcycling reality but I guess F1 cars don't look like family transport either. I wonder if the Japanese were too focused on developing motorcycles and took their collective eye off the aero implications. I remember when Ducati were struggling to get on the podium never mind win, now they are never off the podium but I cant help feeling they did it by steering the development in the wrong direction.

  20. Nope VW/Audi just demonstrate what happens when you throw money at it. Like Chelsea, Man City and next Newcastle Utd. When money is no object, competition ends.

I can see both Yamaha and Honda withrawing. Who'd blame them?
