  1. Hi Ger. I had a good look around on the tool tonight but cannot find a function where I can activate/cycle the ABS hydraulic pump. I have written to BMDIAG to see if they can provide any guidance. I’ll keep you posted.

  2. Ok ..... Thank you

    Gerr

  3. Hi Gerr,

OBDStar got back to say it doesn’t have this function (ABS pump activation) but they are looking to install it in a future update.

I bought it direct from http://www.bmdiag.co.uk/

If you are local to Bristol, you are welcome to borrow mine.

  9. Hello mate I am other end of the country. I've just followed the link but the obds etc range from 370 quid to 20 quid.whi h obd have you used and the program to get into the ecu please

  10. I think that they're referring to the OBDstar iScan Ducati dedicated M50 unit. BMDiag were the only recognised UK supplier/importer of these at the time. They were, then they weren't... then they were again. Now it appears they aren't once more. I own one purchased from them over a year ago. When I asked previously, after they first disappeared from their website, I was told that the manufacturer put the prices up and subsequently cut BMDiag's margin too fine, Quite possibly the case this time around?

You can get them from other sources, though these will probably be from outside the UK and likely in the far east (possible import duty, VAT and difficulty with returns).

Depending on which Ducati you own, i.e. older models, you might be able to use freely available software and the correct cable, this is critical to success apparently, inferior cables are out there. Plenty of threads on here about that.

  11. As bumpkin suggests, I bought the OBDStar iScan Ducati Motorcycle Diagnostic Tool, it cost £369. To keep the unit fully up to date you then pay £80 annually for updates. The unit won’t stop working if you don’t but you won’t get any added features or updates associated with known issues or legislation.

  12. My included 1 year subscription has now expired. I made sure to update mine ahead of this and TBH probably won't bother to pay an additional sub unless I change my bike for something like a v4 Multistrada. The v4 has been included in my recent updates but might have additional featured added going forward. My 2018 1260 Multi probably has all the features in the device that there will be.

Unlike the scan you might get at a Ducati franchise there are no firmware updates for the bike itself using one of these tools. Again my 1260 has had all the relevant ones IMHO, I'm very happy with the way it runs/performs.

  13. Hi, I'm thinking of getting one but bmdiag are out of stock at the moment. In the meantime since I'm local-ish (Ilminster) could I borrow yours please? Wouldn't want to take it away, just need to do the service light....
