hi folks, after 30 odd years of sportsbikes ive finally had enough, sold the zx10r about 3 weeks ago and sorta have it narrowed down to either an aprilia tuono factory,or [more likely] a 950 hypermotard,i dont need 175 bhp for these roads [northern ireland] so the 950 is probably gonna be the next bike in the garage, the biggest concern for me is probably the seat, but i'll see how it goes ,i know theres aftermarket seats so thats an option ,likely a 2020 /2021 sp or rve,if anybody can shed any light on my choices im all ears !......cheers
Welcome My mate has both the Tuono and the Hyper, Tuono Sunday best bike his Hyper his all weather bike. Although for hooning he rated his KTM 790 (now they’re 890’s)as the better even against the Triumph Street Triple he owned. He also had a S1000R which he rated as a very good bike, but not the Euro5 compliant model. I’ve owned a Hypermotard and although a good bike my 790 outperforms it as does my MV Agusta 800RR, however for all roads A/B, motorways/dual carriageways touring, hooning and commuting I’d buy the hyper. I only ride predominately B roads in Shropshire/Mid Wales which are pretty close to the roads in NI IMO.
Go for the Tuono, it's the best all round bike I have. I would love to feck around the west coast of Ireland on one and then hit the IOM. Cracking bike.
