1260 For Those Of You With High Oil Usage......

  1. Just done 800 miles up to Skye and back, hardly used any oil at all, maybe 1mm on the sight glass, it's just a weirdo I have decided. Bloody good bike, overtaking potential is phenomenal, intent power all the time. Roads were busy and it just ate the miles up. Fantastic.

  2. Another "top tip" I'm told - I have no idea if it is right - is that Motul 300V 4T Factory Line 15w-40 is the oil to use. Somehow this stops/slows the oil burn issue.

First place I checked, it was £85 for 4l ... a bit of internet digging and OpieOils.co.uk and with the coupon ENGINE got it down to £55. Bought two and got free delivery.

I have no idea if this is true, and I have nothing to do with OpieOils other than giving them my money :)

  3. I’ve started using this in my 998, bloody expensive but seems great so far

  4. I've done just shy of 41,000 miles on my 1260s and yes it does use oil. Yet despite being ridden hard it uses considerably less petrol than the V4 :D

  5. I can get this at same price I pay for 7100, but been told it's not got the cleaning agents 300v is a pure run a few races then change not sure it's meant for leaving in for up to a year, be very keen to see if anyone know more.
