I'd assumed it was just a typo - one too many noughts before the decimal point.

 

Surely people check things like spelling and other things before sending.

exactly right, even pondered myself for a second but i'm sure the phone was ringing off the hook by the time i saw it.
Reminds me of an even better advert on Gumtree that included several Bimotas. They were pictured in dusty but time-warp, dry condition in an underground car park. I got through to him once but he wasn't interested in naming a price as he realised that the price he'd put in the advert was way off the mark (if I remember correctly).

so true, and at least half your instincts are thinking that there must be a catch. an incomplete 860 GT came up last year that was at least 2K too cheap, I was only half interested but politely texted the owner to check the price. He thought I was going to offer him less and was even partly considering this! - it went within a day.
