It took me a long time to sort the excessive fuel consumption of my 916sp but its done now. I've not ridden it any distance for a long time. Today I decided it could have a proper run. I left home near Bridlington and rode to East Kirby to see "Just Jane" Most of my riding has been on a 1098s over the last few years or on occasions my F4 I can't put into words how much more enjoyable the 916 is I tried uploading a video but the file is too large
Today I fitted new EBC brake pads all round on the ST4. I thought it would be a mornings work but it took about an hour and made a massive difference. A good ride out to bed them in, the weather was glorious Then after much pestering of the supplier my new bed arrived this afternoon and was set up. So I can sleep comfortably tonight! Hoorah!!
On the way back home we did Roseberry Topping at Great Ayton… Certainly a short steep climb Stonking view from the top… Also when I was on the top, this rascal… A Giant Staffordshire bull terrier according to his Mum ( although it looks like there’s some Rottie in there to me? ) …ate all my biscuits ! A folly,..think Taj Mahal built on the cheap by a Yorkshireman ! Back to the car park and a new style plastic waste bin seen one like this before @Ducbird ??
@higgy748 tell us more about East Kirby / Just Jane / the Lanc and the aircraft museum, is it worth a ride over??
Isn’t that the airfield that has the V twin day? There’s an airshow 5 August, you could do what the tight gits do at Cosford airshow and park up outside the airfield to view the show. A few events to combine with looking at aircraft, you may have to pay to enter.
They have a Mosquito as well as the Lancaster and both do regular taxi runs. It seems to be Tuesdays when they taxi them both other says its one or the other. Fir £455 you get a tour of the Lancaster and the about 20 mins taxing about the airfield sat in the turrets, cockpit, bomb aimers position and Navigators position that includes a fast run down the runway. Then there are a load of buildings with various aviation relics. It's only 20mibs from Conningsby so you could do the BBMF tour as well
Thought that was the purchase price? Colleague at work bought his Wife a back seat joy ride in a Spitfire, over 2k. I’d want a piece of it for that kind of dollar. Took my lad to Duxford a few years ago, after telling him repeatedly just how rare Spitfires were they were everywhere you walked. He did point it out to me just how common they are, at least ME109 is rarer……..
Monday and Wednesday took the VFR from Brighton to NW Devon and back. British roads, traffic, traffic jams, hopeless.
One bike has been levitating since last wednesday in the garage on a engine hoist as too busy with work commitments, but today i'll refit the wheels & take a ride in the sunshine.
