back on point my darlings the weather was not kind so didnt manage to hit the panels with primer but got rubbed and filled where needed
So yesterday I put on second lot of top coat and it still needs more This painting lark is expensive The finish at the primed stage was much better than hows it's looking with at present with 2 passes of top coat
That's exactly what my little one said. Sadly I've got to commit to the red gloss Plus don't you have a monopoly on flat black 749 action?
You could do one small bit completely first so you learn how before chucking a load of paint on all fairings. It gets quite costly quickly if it goes wrong.
That is right in some people’s world! I had an old GSX750 years ago that I wanted to paint - as a temporary measure I simply sprayed all the panels with Sperex matt black engine paint. Looked OK so I left it like that for years.
im in deep. all panels been hit twice now with red gloss. im being unfair. by the third pass they will look not bad at all (i hope)
so finally ordered decal kit from my new bestie graham at the image works. its modelled loosely on the 2011 rossi kit which seemed the 'easiest' to DIY fit im shatting myself im not going to make a spreadsheet because it will make my eyes bleed
so the final pass of top coat is now on and its not bad. im going a bit ott before i put the decals on so do i 'polish' it before i spray the lacquer on? i have 2 dual action polishers with either foam pads or with very fine wet and dry. im thinking i give the panels a polish before spraying on the clear lacquer and then polishing that too?
so the result is starting to look respectable after hitting the belly pan with my dual action with a firm pad and some fairly heavy cutting compound in the first pass then finishing off with something much finer
