I did, well a 996 anyway and made a right wholly of myself as I nearly dropped it and grabbed a handful of thottle in the process ♂️
I was in the service area at the same time. SFV4S, non functional switches If you did nearly drop it no one noticed, we all liked the engine note!
Ah well nice to put an internet name to a face or three My SF is not well either. hence the grumbly conversation with the dealer. They're saying engine back in by middle of August now, which is ok I guess. At least I get a new block
I don't think they will do that... well I doubt it. But I do, apparently have to run it in again... Which is a bit annoying... especially having to pay for the service again. Might try that on again with Ducati
If they need to replace the engine, it’s not unreasonable to ask that the running in service be part of the warranty claim, I presume you’ve already paid for it on the first engine?
Well... @iang27 did Yes, I will negotiate. To be honest, I'll just be glad to get it back... Using the 996 as a main bike is going to cripple me lol
They gave me a loaner - 23 plate Z900, fugly as, and a really snappy throttle. At least your riding something desirable
Ducati will lose out, too. It helps to have non-Ducatista walk past Ducati machines in P&H because it exposes them to the bikes in the metal. That exposure is good for future Ducati sales. ProTwins has neither the capacity nor the customer service level of P&H. Ducati will lose repeat sales unless ProTwins ups its customer service game.
My first thought given the convenience of P&H to me, my decades long relationship with them and the fact they have always looked after me was I’m likely to go to MV if it does as rumored fill the Ducati void. I’d happily have one if they go 100% KTM owned.
Ducati’s decision means it no longer has a dealer anywhere in Sussex! Consequently, Ducati will sell fewer bikes. The “brand experience” is irrelevant if there’s no local dealer. Also, it’s a crap “brand experience” if it involves travelling 40 miles for a service or parts. Ducati has shot itself in its Italian foot.
New Dealer supposedly opening up next to Harley on the way to Eastbourne. Not two brands I’d put together.
