Hello All, I've picked up my V4 Rally yesterday. Well chuffed! I'm curious what have you guys done to your V4 Multies? Decal, crash bars, anything, really. At the moment I've got these from the dealer: - heated seats and grips - keyless tank cap - crash bars - hand guards not arrived yet, but on the way Managed to get second hand aluminium luggages Will be mounting the quadlock above the main display On order: - Roadlock - through axle crash bobbins I keep looking online for what catches me eye and interest. So I'm basically curious what's out there I might like, what have you liked, and done to yours
Heres mine, just carbon side panels, rear hugger and front mud guard. Also fitted power coated my crash bars black. Oh and TWM levers.
I'm well on top of that! This is more of a "rain outside" exercise. Not that I need my wallet to bleed more
I've got a V4S Travel and Radar, in white, which came with plastic panniers, main stand, heated grips and heated seats. Below is the complete list of accessories and parts I've fitted on my V4 Multi. Unlike @Multirider75, I am willing to share Ducati Accessories purchased with the bike: Plastic top case and rack and the colour matched trim panel Additional LED Lights Hands free filler cap Tyre pressure sensors Touring handguards Tank protection Liners for plastic panniers and plastic top case Touring tank bag and tank lock ring I had Biketrac tracker fitted from new by the Ducati dealer (Ducati Aylesbury) as required by my insurance company. I also took out 3rd party GAP insurance which was a lot cheaper than that offer by the dealer. Ducati Accessories I already had, collected over 12 years of Multistrada ownership: Pocket tankbag Power extension cable with USB ports storage covers for top case and panniers - I've recently purchased a Oxford Protex Stretch Fit Indoor Cover in red (Size XL) which looks a lot nicer than using old duvet covers Front paddock stand - I have a rear stand for SSSA but rarely used it on my Multitrada 1200s so not bothering to buy one for the double sided swing arm on the V4S Third party accessories: Evotech guards, the complete set: radiators, oil cooler, engine, cylinder head - I had buy them piecemeal as they became available Evotech folding levers - Iconic sat nav mount Speedo Angles dashboard screen protector - I went for the tempered glass anti glare version Ducabike guards (purchased from Conquest Racing): Rear brake master cylinder guard - Ducati have changed the design on the Rally model so the rear brake master cylinder is less exposed Rear wheel ABS sensor guard Scotoiler xSystem - I had a relatively new eSystem from my previous bike but decided it was too much of a pain to install given the number of plastic panels that would be needed to route the cable up to the handlebars. Pyramid Plastics fender extenders, both front and rear Grip Puppies - I find the standard handlebar grips too small diameter and too hard. Spare keys without transponder: there is a locksmith on ebay who will supply and cut keys from a number or photo at a very reasonable price - spare "dumb" keys are a really good idea as it's very easy to leave the key in pannier, top case or more easily in the the seat lock, so it's a good idea if the key can't start the the bike I decided to get a smaller top case as the Ducati plastic top case is on the large side (47 litres) for day to day use. I purchased a Givi DLM Trekker Dolimiti which is smaller at 30 litres and has a good lock. It fits directly onto the Ducati rack using the Givi Monokey mechanism. I used the Ducati touring tank bag a few times but didn't really like it so decided to look at Givi Tanklock range of tank bags. (same fitting as supplied with Ducati tank bags). After trying a few tank bags to see how they fitted (thanks to Sports Bike Shop for the free and easy returns), I purchased Givi XS308 tank bag. I prefered this bag over the Ducati touring tank bag because it's got the handle at the back (so it's easier to lift of the bike and if you forget to do the zip up the contents doesn't imediatly fall out), it's got a good map pocket (I like to prepare turn lists for each day's riding when on tour) and it's expandable. It also fits using the standard height tanklock compared with the much taller tanklock ring supplied with the Ducati touring tank bag. Thanks to @Mr_V4PP for pointing out that the adjustable air deflector flaps from the Rally model could be retro fitted onto the V4/V4S/V4PP model, see the forum thread discussion in which I listed all the parts required and @Veetwin described the installation steps. I've been thinking about a larger windscreen for a while and when I saw that Ducati had release a new screen and side deflector accessory pack, Ducati Gran Turismo 2 windscreen, I thought I'd give it a go. I only picked it up last week so can't comment on the difference it makes. I don't know if the screen and deflectors are from the Rally model as Ducati haven't released the online parts catalogue for the Rally model as yet. When I had 1200 Multistradas, I invested in a few expensive tools for SSSA rear wheel removal: 55 mm bi-hex socket, 3/4" sq. drive breaker bar, 1/2" sq. drive torque wrench (70-330Nm) and after the breaker bar proved ineffective I purchased a cordless impact driver (DeWalt DCF899N, up to 1625Nm of breakaway torque!) plus impact sockets, adapters and extensions. For the V4S, I had to invest a new 36 mm bi-hex socket. I also purchased a 36 mm spanner but this far to large and heavy for tanking on a long tour so I ended up buying a special 36 / 30 mm combination socket and an extendable 1/2" sq. drive wrench and a short 1/2" sq. drive extension bar - see the forum thread @Veetwin started on the subject to rear wheel removal tools. I agree with @Multirider75 comments that it it is possible to spend a lot of money on accessories on top of spending a lot on the bike in the first place. I used to keep a spreadsheet of all accessories, spares, tools, servicing etc. I'd purchased, however I stopped a few years ago as the total was frightening. The only good thing is that I've been able to get a few bob back by using this forum to sell used accessories, spares etc. when I've finished with them. PS. I forgot to mention that I'd just ordered a Pike Peak handlebar (with associated clips and pins just in case) - see forum thread. After reading @ymfb 's list, I too have an Optimate lead directly connected to the battery for charging and the connection to a heated jacket.
I have fitted the side stand foot, engine guards and the lower enduro screen to mine. In the summer months it can get hot as they wind protection on the bike is so good so the lower screen made sense to me. I like to feel the speed anyway. I don't really go for all the carbon stuff these days. Been there and done it, can't see the benefit anymore but each to their own. I've also got a rack fitted so I can fit top box or soft bags as required. Still use my SW motech tank bags which are on my third Multi. They're so good I see no reason to change.
Mine is a Travel & Radar Aluminium luggage with pannier liners SAE (Optimate lead) for air pump compressor Matching red panels to replace the silver Iconic & Touratech Garmin lockable mount Adjustable levers Evotech engine guards Carbon Front Mudguard from Conquest Racing Carbon rear hugger from Conquest Racing Ducati tank bag I think that’s it at present

Very happy with all of the above, not aiming to change any time soon.

BTW it will lift the front on a handful very easily if you have loaded panniers on the bike!!
Swapped the side panels to the red ones from the sport and changed to EvoTech levers. I like the look but also like the black side panels and fender on the bike posted above. Very sharp.
Thanks for the very long list of things, appreciate it! Few follow up questions to the above: - pyramid front flap extender. Did you dind it making much difference at all? - Grip Puppies - does the heat from the grips still come through? Looks like a great insulator. Note about the windshield. Looked at the link, and it visually looks identical to mine.
