Ulez With An 888

  2. LET THE FUN BEGIN.

    I got an email stating that the letter from Ducati’s Homologation Team was not good enough and I need to supply a Certificate of Conformity. I have echoed back to them that they say either one, or the other on their site, so I am now waiting for a response as to why the letter from Ducati’s Homologation team is not good enough.

  3. How interesting. You wonder if they've been flooded with letters from Bologna saying 'Si si, questa macchina dal 1950
    è perfetta, nessun problema, ciao' and started to wonder how scientifically premised they are ...

    But as you rightly say, you've met their stated criteria.

  5. Lovely looking bike and similar to the one in a Tuscan automated petrol station (in the nineties) that put me back on the Ducati track. 250 to 350 to V500 to 748, to 999...

    A little reminder to them that the Ducati Homogation Team's letter should be good enough, as stated on their web site, and I have been approved!!!

  9. Great news, time for me to go through the process for my 888 and 916!!! from Yorkshire to my parents in London on the Velocette is a big ask to avoid the ulez tax!! (but compliant!!)
     
  10. I’m still waiting for the TFL email after about 4 weeks. How long did they take to respond to you?

    Ducati to TfL.

  12. Bristol ULEZ excludes bikes, so maybe all the other non-London ones are the same.

  13. Not that I really needed it, but thought I would apply for the ULEZ thing. I got a letter back from from Bologna, 1992 900ss NOx 0.08 g/km. Just waiting for TFL now. It has been a bit of a long drag (I think they got swamped with application) but pretty easy and it might come in useful.

  15. Yes - almost all of them. There are a small number that are closed to bikes, which demands diligence!

  16. It is painful for me going through this I have to say.

    Me to Ducati took about 6 weeks as they just didn’t bother getting back to me until I called. They then pointed out that my V5 was missing a number (apparently common on older bikes) so they said ULEZ wouldn’t except.

    Sent V5 off to DVLA for correction. Here I am 9 weeks later and it is still being ‘processed’. Whatever that means. Once I get that back then I can start the process with Ducati again if I don’t lose the will to live beforehand!
     
  17. DVLA state on the forms that if you don’t receive your corrected V5 back after 5 weeks you should call them. If you leave it too long they will charge you for a new one.
     
  18. Sounds like the problem I have with the V5. I’ll be interested to hear how you get on with DVLA.
     
  19. Yeah, I’ve called twice already and will be calling again tomorrow. Will let you guys know how it goes
     
  20. Got my corrected V5 back in the post on Saturday. It took over 8 weeks. Now to start the ULEZ process again!
