Does seem a bit steep, I bought a ducati performance one brand new this week for my 899 for £80 Glws though.
A generic cover will always be a cheap option. I have two of them but they’re nowhere near as good as the custom fit type specific covers.
I will ask my mum to knit us a few any interest? I had no idea you could buy covers specifically to fit your bike tbh wasn’t trying to be a dick.
They’re like hens teeth now. Back in the day when you bought a special it came with a few special accessories.
They were made by a small family run company about 20 miles outside Bologna and haven’t been made for the best part of 20 years. Wish I’d never had sold mine.
In my understanding, following the 996R thread, the cover given with these was a paper-like POS… I have a very special cover on my 916 SP3 with a label saying it was made in Castelfranco Emilia, a little town half way between Bologna and Modena. Company name was « Elle S. Covering ».
I know, have the original 996R here, however the 999R type isn’t that hard too find. They often pop up here in Germany. ebaykleinanzeichen. Glws
Nope. It came original with my 996R, when bought new in 01. Trade it in for the Bayliss, and kept the cloth. Anyway glws.
