Collectible Helmets - Values And Any Specialists ?

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by d8mok, Jul 30, 2023.

  1. I have some collectible AGV helmets which I’m considering selling.

This includes a GP tech Donkey which is number 45 (Rossi apparently has no46) plus others along these lines.

Does anyone know of any specific sites , traders , groups etc for selling such a thing?

Target audience likely isn’t bikers to use but more a collector.

  2. I just sold a Kagayama x spirit 2 as a display helmet and got nearly £100…. So there is a market. I had all the James Haydon rep helmets on my shelf for years and wish I hadn’t thrown them away! Rich art just quoted me £950 to paint one!

  3. Yes definitely a market.

I’ve watched a couple of Donkeys sell over the last year or so for £600-800. Only ones for sale now are £1250 and £1750. Not sure if that’s a silly number or not but mine is a better size and also a unique number (aren’t they all)

I’ve quite a few others too. I’ve just been pointed to a dedicted group via another forum so may have found what I’m after.

  4. Bloody hell! Is that cost standard for a bespoke paint job?

  5. I spoke to my mate who’s in the bike trade and apparently so, he said that I have to remember it was £400 to get them painted back in 2005! So relatively speaking it’s probably not silly, it’s 3 days solid work probably.

that was to do the James Haydon rep

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  6. If the donkey sells for that much,

I have an old lorenzo HJC signed by Lorenzo & guy martin

  7. That sounds bang on price wise IMO, anything between £200-300 per day for a skilled person these days.

  8. I think is more than that tbf and will take about 3 4 days

  9. @d8mok what was the dridcated group as I have a few collectables, but mine are Arai
