  1. I’d be interested to know from the f1/Lewis Hamilton experts on here why George Russell is getting his arse well and truly slapped week after week this season. I thought George was the second coming and Hamilton was all about the car.
    .6 down this week.
    TIA

  2. Lewis has 30% more points to date, which certainly places Russell is in the weeds (so far) this year.

Though last season it was the reverse, and perhaps it is that which spurred Hamilton's resurgent form, getting beaten over a season by a younger, less experienced team mate must have hacked him right off!

  4. Last year’s car sounds to have been an absolute pig to drive. Perhaps being younger Russel was better able to withstand the physical hammering last year?

  5. I agree theres probably something to this.

  6. I haven’t read all the previous threads, tbh I can’t be bothered. but the F1 media and his fan base have sprouted over too many years about his driving supremacy. The last two seasons have proved he’s an average F1 driver who’s been over paid and overexposed driving the best car on the grid. It’s now time for Max and Red Bull.

  7. Average driver? Hahahaha behave.

  8. I do giggle at F1 Sky presenter fanboys when they keep saying he’s ‘driving the Merc beyond its limits’ That Ted Kravitz is a bell end fanboy.
That said, LH is driving well recently. He’s found some form. I thought it was a little harsh him getting a 5 second penalty for his overtake on Perez in the sprint race.
The Merc isn’t a shitter, and it never has been.

  9. Yep, apparently now a seven times world champion over a decade in two different cars is nothing more than average…best not to feed the trolls!

  10. Yup.

Times and cars change, it’s Verstrapon’s turn now. Hopefully for not much longer but both incredible drivers all the same.

  11. Right, that’s F1 & it’s up to everyone else to catch up now just like it was with the Mercs & Vettels RB before that and…

  12. From rumours I have heard Red Bull’s budget is way way over the top this year and likely to mean some significant penalties at some point.

  13. That ship’s sailed already. They got a “small” fine for the fiscal irregularities earlier this year & in the unlikely event they’ve done it again, it’ll just be a fine that they can easily afford to pay. Simple truth is that Red Bull is a totally dominant car with the current number one driver in top form.
Other than kneecapping Adrian Newey & sending a particularly pernicious virus to his CAD program, the rest are just playing catch up for now.

  14. F1 isn’t really a sport. It’s a money making racket.

  15. I agree.

    It’s pretty dull too.

    Give me BSB any day.

  16. F2 is entertaining. As is F3

  17. I fixed that for you. I thought a little perspective would clarify things?

  18. Indeed, at its core it’s still a sport. Of course it is & how is it any different from Football, MotoGP, Golf, Cricket, all the US sports and so on?
