Hi All, Does anyone know of a UK based manufacturer of an adjustable link bar for the rear shock? Im searching online and struggling to find one that is either not a dead link or non-UK! I have an 1100 Evo so I have a rigid link bar on the shock and want to add the ability to adjust it so that I can experiment with different heights? I've also tried to find a used original Ducati part as found on all the Ohlins fitted models but these seem to be suprisingly rare too!! Any help appreciated!
I believe that @comfysofa has an 1100 hyper as well and is quite knowledgeable about the machine, he may be able to help.
Why not have one made? Find 2 suitable rose joints and have a bar with left- and right hand thread made. Couple of flats in the middle for a spanner and you're there.
Ive seen a few posts of people sourcing poor quality bars online and them letting go on them when riding, I guess I could make one but would rather buy an original part if possible to do so - I didnt think it would be so tricky to find one!!
I will take a photo and try to measure it - thanks! I did ask the question of a few sellers on Ebay but none one seemed to want to commit to any of theirs as being able to fit the Hyper! This one looks the same as mine: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123391933991?fits=UKM_CCM:1100|UKM_Makeucati|UKM_Model:Hypermotard&epid=4020411447&hash=item1cbabb7e27:g:20gAAOSwc1ZbrGsw&amdata=enc:AQAIAAAA8Aedz+aFHbeR6u3+4iSEVuSxolPyC3D/9WQuUIbjvdMmlVOfDZ559KrpnFwI2hCmgUF3nHr7gfDI8XsGteY3fgOx4kpl8Qz3A5sv9AeBiOOwQBZFKc/FPEsTnJwDhbjP3Pu93saLIAL/C7QnywzOdyx/4hx+uyU11/LzUqoj5jgG2h9JrGWPmChp44/bRSE1PamXuROXAFewmrQpNq07xXZZOzNNgkeAUgSiSv+JhrNQsnZh2HTtwrDJ4BY8O6R11gYgKJyWE2oIHwB6lNadbz9eqfOJSbup/a4m45OKCe1eqBKCayfEweYsRKYiazHjvw==|tkp:Bk9SR4zu9NG1Yg And this is what the adjustable one looks like on the hyper: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324859353574?hash=item4ba32059e6:g:W9sAAOSwL1hhf0t5&amdata=enc:AQAIAAABAIg8dWFKSg8mYmac3k9l1J8JEDcsMuwroLaW461mr6JVVWvh2KL5ejfRab+FdUnoYgQdlCVYTpS/mnsmzMpXslmKlf0pal9VixTN8EKJbgbWfcdnBGoukND35RdVlzn4Q9mJ3aROlM46lLqNoWIUZryLq6czDuIyw+ZGfGM5eUtLA85Nvh4AsveaLGvHTJUtImWvJVe9GstzDTiT8JD7GUqfYsGDpUJ7HgM1Wzz1Wg9XZmNzgz1N/z1T0wlYAY9uNIEz6JAqvSVaJC2jv91Rz205H8qKZM3HBqv/juyLXLecLXuvdAAl4Hg1xf5QfR89dv0vBzKVJd9kBMXYjvsQg+4=|tkp:Bk9SR4zu9NG1Yg Update: have just measured mine (as best I can when still mounted on the bike!) and its around 26cm from centre to centre.
Hey hey...how about this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12488972...KPGlDhF7JX2bKpUrH3eBWY4O1S|tkp:Bk9SR6b48a-2Yg
When I bought my bike it already had an adjustable one fitted - I believe this is an off the shelf part, but I am not sure who manufactured it as I cannot see any branding on it!?
That looks sweet - if there was any way of identifying it that would be ideal but thanks for the info/photo anyway!
Is this something you would be looking to sell and if so how much? If mine is looking like 26cm CC std then I dont know how much shortening capacity this is going to give me but maybe I can modify the centre part slightly to allow for more shortening distance as long as the threads run deep enough into that centre part?
Beware of aluminium because the threads can wear and fail...... Steel versions available and much safer.
