Why The Double Standards?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Ian, Aug 11, 2023.

  1. Dealing with fookwits was mandatory. There's some on a short thread to demonstrate the point.

  2. Nobody has explicitly slagged off Estate Agents. The OP just happened to be relay an irritating meeting with one, but that could have happened with anyone you might meet.

The other post related an annoying situation which, seeing as the OP was referring to Estate Agents, must have seemed relevant. So it just happens to be 2 examples of when someone who happened to be an Estate Agent has annoyed someone.

There are cvnts everywhere in all walks of life. :)

  7. Shockingly poor form on the part of Mrs Jones. She should have introduced herself by first name then surname and not entitled herself. Subsequently she should have enquired “ you must be Mr Smith?” Entitling you in the process of introduction allows you to respond with “yes but please call me Ian.” A cordial discourse would them proceed to the satisfaction of all parties. Honestly etiquette has gone down the crapper!

  8. My daughter’s name is Tasmin. She was in Starbucks and the girl serving her misheard her name and said “Jasmin?”. My daughter said, “No, it’s Tasmin, with a T”. When she got her cup they’d written “Jasmint”.

  11. I read about poor Slingy on here, then I read this thread.

    Where’s the face palm emoji?

What, no face palm emoji? Now that really is shocking.

  14. I was born in Frome, however, it wasn't a great place for many years. Now people are heading there and it’s very popular, even with so callous celebrities. We recently went for dinner at a Tapas restaurant in Cheap Street, followed by a gig at The Cheese and Grain.

  15. Cheese and Grain get some good acts playing there, just too far from me.
