Hello from Sweden ducatistas, Been reading (and searching around) a lot, and realized Zard is the "only" option, but I was thinking it shouldnt be to much of a work to let some company modify akrapovic headers for the 1200S to fit the 1200R? Anyone done this? Zard looks great, but Im not sure about their end cans + its like 4000euro.. Id like to pair titanium headers with either my single akrapovic tit can or go with the titanium sc-project small single can. Cheers / Mike
I presume you know the headers on the R are larger in diameter than the S. There is another company who made a full titanium system for the R but I can't remember it at the moment. It was more expensive than the Zard. £5000. Will let you know if I can find it.

I would double check that if I was you. Very much doubt this being correct but I may be wrong. My R is approaching 4 years old now and have searched many a time for titanium headers and what you say about the Akras has never come up. Hope I am wrong because I'd be also very interested in this.
From what Ive read the akrapovic titanium headers for the 1200S has the same diameter for 98% of the length but only differs at the inlets and outlets / at the connections from the cylinders. Also an old friend and ducati M1200R enthusiast said it to me, so Im gonna try to look more into this. Cause if its true - then it wouldn't be a huge cost to let some exhaust company just modify the connections Also wonder if Zard would sell the header-parts only hmm, cause Id like to pair it with my ordered sc-project cr-t small tit can, that I think would look and sound amazing
I got an answer from akrapovic that "an expert" will look into it, if the titanium headers for 1200S have a larger diameter than original 1200S - then it would be about same diameter as 1200R, and "only" to modify the connections from the cylinders. Im so tempted to already now get the titanium headers for 1200S and give it a try, since they are on sale on a swedish site for 650usd.. Cheers
