Sena Stryker Any Info

  1. Since I got the Multistrada I have struggled to hear my helmet intercom when riding
I am thinking of Sena,s dedicated Bluetooth Stryker helmet with the uprated Harman Kardon speakers
I can't find any really independent reviews and no one locally stocks them

Has anyone any experience with them please?

  2. Have you tried setting up your existing headset speakers so that they align centrally with your ear canals? Also get them as close as comfortably possible to your ears.

Years ago I was disappointed with an Autocom system that I bought, the audio faded to nigh on inaudible above 40 mph. That was until I read the user manual that stressed this point. Night and day difference once I'd done the above. Applied the same principal to all headsets since. My old Sena 10U works, with earplugs, upto and we'll over the limit. Admittedly it is effected by wind noise but I can hear nav and comms, even at autobahn speeds.

  3. Hi Bumpkin
Yes I have endlessly moved them around, put them on raised pads ( but it rubbed on my ears) etc
Off the bike it's very loud but once you pass 30 it's impossible to make out the directions.
Was much better on my previous ZZR1400 though that was a different helmet
I do think placement is a factor that's why I,m hoping a dedicated set up is better

  4. Multistrada has a volume control on the bike, which is independent from the helmet. While in the phone or music tab on the display, move the joystick up to increase volume. Or at least that's what I have on mine.

  5. thanks
different set up, my intercom is connected to my Garmin xt rather than the bike

  6. OK, worth suggesting but looks like you've tried that.

Do you find the screen position helps with audibility? The Mutli screen, especially as standard, is petty bad for buffeting as well as noise.

I tried various aftermarket screens; Puig (sport and touring) and Touratech before coming back to the standard Ducati one but with screen spacers from @Jamie Clare of this parish. Regular roads I have it on the low position, motorway and in the rain it's raised. Significantly quieter at speed as well as less, wouldn't say no, buffeting.

  7. Not sure who makes the basic helmet shell for Sena but the statement "ECE rated" on UK internet sales sites like Infinity and Helmet City, when the helmet is US DOT tested, sounds like a fudge to sell it in the UK and the price point suggests to me it's not your top of the range lid. 8. Andy that's what stops me from taking a punt it's such an unknown quantity, plus I have been exclusively Shoei foe 20 years+
This is what I, ve settled on-screen wise shortest power bronze unit plus Jamie,s spacers
plus a reworked saddle for my 6ft4 pudding frame IMG_20220417_134130_195.jpg

  9. I know your challenge, being a man of similar proportions but I’m not a big technology user whilst riding. The Sena mesh in my Neotech 2 has made as much difference as I feel the need for. Andy

  10. There was an upgraded quality Interphone system which went into the Shoei Neotech which I found excellent. The Schuberth system I have built in is ok but nothing like as clear or loud

  11. I had a Interphone intercom (Urban, then Avant) in my Shoei Neotech which worked very well. Recently changed to a Neotech 2 which is fine and thought I'd splash out on a Sena SRL-Mesh - big mistake. It's just not loud enough when wearing ear plugs at 60+ mph. Also the control buttons are not easy to feel plus it's far too simple to switch the intercom off when fumbling trying to find the correct button. I purchased the handlebar remote which I've attached to a tank bag which works well. I've just received a pair of Interphone U-COM 7Rs as a replacement for the Avant set. I think I might well give one a try on the Neotech 2 and if the volume is better try to send back the Sena SRL-Mesh as not fit for purpose.

  12. Good to know
