Your in for a treat. So what made you choose an 1198? I personally love the style and the design which is in keeping with it's older brothers of the 916 era.

I was out in Spain in May for 5 days on track and was really struck by how many Ducati were there, obviously mainly Panigale V2/V4 etc. Just kept coming to my mind that i had never owned a Ducati but had always sort of liked them. Didn't want to break the bank (i'm sort of retired now) so started looking across the range of affordable Ducatis without having to get rid of any of my current bikes (see below). Found the bike above pretty locally and at what appears to be a good price. Got to scratch that itch i guess
Lovely collection. I also run a Busa. You won't be disappointed with the Ducati. I look forward to read how you get on with it.
Congrats I owned a 2009 1198 for a number of years. Beast of an engine never caused me any issues either.
