I just purchased a bike I have been chasing for two years: a 1995 Ducati 916SP. I took this picture in front of my shop and decided to title it "I don't have a problem, you have a problem!" From back to front: 1994 Ducati 916 Varese (Originally sold in Switzerland) 1995 Ducati 916SP (Imported and sold by Ferracci in the USA) 1995 Ducati 916 Varese (Sold in California) Thought my fellow lunatics might appreciate it!
Very Nice Problem OP. "We" have a threshold problem too, I have one more than her and the garage is full. My Seniority is holding at the minute, and I don't understand the question when she asks which one would I sell?
The correct answer is always n + 1. Have been following a different forum's thread where a guy picked up an original '94 Strada for $1900. Thing just needs a decent clean. I need to find some of these clueless sellers.
The story of getting my SP is pretty fun. If people are interested, I can write it up. I didn't get a steal-of-a-deal or anything, but chasing a bike for two years and finally getting it is a nice feeling!
The previous owner of the SP put the red headlight cover on there as he had the bike in a semi "track" state. Fortunately for me, he kept all of the original parts (wheels, headlights and more). I agree with you that the original headlights look better. Once I find some time, I'll be slowly going through the SP.
Speaking of the wheels...does anyone have experience with these Marvic magnesium wheels that my SP has? I've never seen them in person before. How do they compare to the Marchesini wheels?
