It's actually an X-ray Wasey. That's why it's so clear. We scan at 4 weeks and then x-ray on (or about) day 58. I like to know how many to expect, so none get left behind We had one change their mind today too (and they've been waiting for over 18 months !!). Sometimes life changes things, but like you said, better before than after. We've got a number of other people on our waiting list, so it's no problem. They've just made someone else happy. BTW..We have it in the contract that if for any reason they can't keep a puppy of ours (whatever age) they must bring it back to us.
I've turned down loads. I don't care how long they've been waiting. Had one for our last litter that had been waiting for 2+ years and didn't get one (and never will). Sometimes I find out they're not what they say they are. Sometimes I'm not convinced they're up to owning a Border Collie. Sometimes I just don't like them. It's like the Spanish Inquisition getting on my waiting list ..... and nobody expects that
Here is my slobber monster and why my garage and a spare bedroom are designated "dog-free" zones. The hair is insidious and the drool is like toxic waste once it touches something. Ever since my golden retriever passed last autumn, all we have are each other on the daily so I love him to death. He's a 3.5yr old Saint Bernard and his name is Atlas. He's big but thankfully this one only eats to live and doesn't live to eat so he's fit compared to most. Here are some size comparison pics so you can understand the enormity of this guy for those who haven't been around this breed. Next to my mom: An old girlfriend: Next to my 20yr old son: A fresh paw print next to my hand! A couple of pics of him on my bed: An honest pic showing his average state of care. Slobbering on his toys makes his forearms and neck a disaster: ....and of course, the obligatory puppy pics starting at 6 weeks, then 8, then 10.
I just didnt get a good feeling, they weren't keen or no commitment at the visit where as others have been excited from the start. But turns out after a chat, they had a pair of French BD's and had to give them up before due to "bahaviousal" issues with one of them so the chances of them doing well with something with "Beagle" in didnt look good! I get it that things change for people, we took our beagle on because the owners circumstances changed (apparently anyway) but cant let them go if we know that has happened once before already.
Wish I had done that for ours now, thats so amazing to see . The scan we had at the 8 week mark gave a good indicator but never really shows the positions and sizes like that. Even my wife said wow, which is very unusual!
@92GTA He looks a handsome fella, knew they were big but that paw print shot was an eye opener for sure. Hate to think how many dyson's he could fill a day in the summer shedding season!
1 every day easily on the regular, 2 when he's blowing his coat twice a year - and that's after extensive daily brushings out! It's completely mad for sure Thankfully I have a special one made just for pet hair so it never gets fouled, absolutely worth every penny.
I can see why French Bulldog ownership would be a definite red flag. I can’t see the attraction myself as they’re demonic looking little beasts that make weird noises all the time and they don’t live very long either. Then again, if I was a dog owned by the sort of vacuous Love Island, Live-Laugh-Love, let’s move to Dubai, Turkey teeth sporting, fake eyelash fvckers that usually go for French Bulldogs, then I’d probably want to check out early too
Few frenchies around here...Again, don't see the attraction, snort and hump worse than a premier league footballer.
I know a couple that have two frenchies. And they’re exactly as you’ve described. Their dogs are pure fashion accessories and get palmed off on family (one of my sisters) willy nilly. Drives my sister potty. She loves the dogs but it definitely creates tension… family shit eh…
Me and the Mrs have been ‘interviewed’ before buying pups. I’ve no problem with it tbh. I just pretend I’m nice for half an hour
Yeah but........ did they check out your house on Google Earth and research your Social media presence too ?
So this didnt work (nor tumeric) we gave it four months and no improvement so he's off to the vets today to start monthly jabs. I just couldn't bear watching him hobbling anymore. Hes six on Thursday so hopefully this will get him back to his best in time for that.
