Whoops! I appear to have found a clutch cover for a 916 (may fit others) which I do not need. Before I put it on ebal, if it is of any interest to anyone let me know.

Yet another back tyre on the Kwakker …..



Ready for our 4 day hoon around Scotland at the end of the month

 

Checked chain tension and cleaned and lubed the chain.

Gave the bike a ‘maintenance wash’ ahead of a deep clean in a few weeks when I’ve done a few more miles.

Took delivery of a front paddock stand.

Purchased a pinlock 30 which despite being the same as the one in my current helmet, is NOT the same size!

Reseated my Oxford panniers

 

I’ve just ordered another for the 899 that thing eats tyres.

 

I’m using Bridgestone S22s on my 899, suit the bike really well and you can get the rear’s in the 180/60 size, I’m getting about 2,600 miles out of a rear, and it wears nicely edge to edge..


I use Michelin Road 6’s on the heffer Kawasaki, great tyres, especially in the wet, got almost 6,000 miles out of this last back one, but some of that will have been helped by our Alps trip last year.
It’s always a bit scary feeling how thin the carcass of the tyre is once it’s down to the tread wear bars when you take it off and you can put a finger inside and outside of the tyre and flex it easily ….even scarier thinking I’m flinging a 235kgs bike plus rider down a road at stupid mph !!
Pays to change them a bit earlier in future I think ?

 

Quite the opposite proportion wise like a horse jockey.

Yeah I love the s22s I use them on every thing I can get them to fit on, just got a pirelli corsa front to finish off on the front so ordered same for the rear then it will be s22s on the 899 next time, can’t wait as I don’t rate the Pirelli’s really.

 

Finally managed to get another shed built , which in turn allowed me to clear out the bike shed so that I can have room to work on them this winter

 

I'm like that with Michelin Roads. I don't do track and would consider myself probably on the 'slow' side, but they are brilliant, especially in the wet.
