Motojournalist, Photographer & Ducatista Jim Gianatsis, Los Angeles Hello Fellow Ducati Forum UK Ducatista, I'm glad to make your acquaintance. I am a former editor of Cycle News USA and professional racer in AMA Motocross and Superbike. And I also do sportscar roadracing track days and autocross. I've also worked as a design engineer for some well known motorcycle manufacturers and product companies, and as a suspension engineer for some top factory teams and their riders who went on to become World Champions. I have my own advertising design and photography agency, Gianatsis Design Associates, based in Los Angeles specializing in the motorsports and sports fashion markets. I also own and produce the FastDates.com Website, Calendars and Books. One of our Calendars is the Fast Dates World Superbike PinUp Calendar, the models of which also serve as official SBK World Superbike and Ducati Corse race team grid girls. It's really exciting to shoot our Calendar at the World Superbike races and to hang out in the pits on race day with the Ducati team. I became a hard-core Ducati enthusiast back in 1993 when I first rode the newly introduced 916 Superbike, and have gone on to own every track homologated version from the 1st Generation 888SPO to the new 1199S which I've upgraded with Corse parts to a street-legal 1199RS. My daily rider about town and for cross country trips is the current Multistrada 1200 which is a really incredible bike. For fun, I love taking annual trips to Europe for the Edelweiss Tours on the Ducati Multistradas over the Alps and across Europe. And more recently participated in the Ducati DRE Troy Bayliss Race Academy track days at the Imola and Misano International circuits on Ducati race prepped Superbikes with my good friend Troy Bayliss, 3-time World Superbike Champion. This past year year I also co-wrote with famed motojournalist and fellow Ducatista Alan Cathart, and published the large format coffeetable book "Ducati Corse World Superbikes" which should be a must have for any Ducati enthusiast. It has a complete technical and track test history off all 5 generations of Ducati Corse World Superbikes from the first 851 Desmotoquatro prototype to the latest 1199RS Superquadro Panigale. Plus interviews with all the factory riders, engineers and team managers, exciting race action photos, and my Fast Dates Calendar pictures of each bike with the beautiful Fast Dates Calendar Kittens who have even included Miss Great Britain, Nicky Lane. Please stop by and visit FastDates.com Motorcycle PinUp Calendars, Books, News, Racing, Custom Motorcycles, Performance Tuning, Beautiful Girls, Los Angeles Calendar Motorcycle Show, keep up to date on the latest racing and new bike news in the Pit Lane News section, and order the FastDates.com Calendars and new Ducati Corse World Supeebike book. Cheers! Hello Buddy that's a awesome selection you've got there Jim! Mike Cathcart has done some excellent things over the decades, I'll keep an eye out for your guide. Welcome to the forum!
Well obviously. Nobody could really start off with quite such a crass, bumptious, self-promoting puff. Surely?
Good point. In that case perhaps we can add sleazy, greedy and skanky to crass and bumptious. Is that just the common stereotype, or are they really like that?
I wish they wouldnt drape models over the bikes. Having them stand behind is fine. As long as I can have an unobstructed view of the bikes. I'm guessing the tracky bottoms are due to the fact theyve got elasticated waist's. Some more rotund prefer this. Me Ive still got a 30" waist. Haha suckers. I saw a busa the other day. With turbo and was obviously highly modified in the engine dept. The rider mustve been 20st plus. Surely it'd been cheaper to get jaws wired for more speed. I'll add your book and calender to my xmas list. Nice bikes and Hi.
