900 SS Stationary cam belt rollers

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by Stew, Aug 14, 2013.

  1. Hi all,

Would anyone have the two stationary cam belt rollers of the 900 SS engine?

Or does anyone know of where to get them?

    The bike is a 1993.

    Cheers

  2. Apparently one of the rollers cannot be repaired while the other can..............however, I am d*mn sure I read somewhere that somebody had managed to get one of the 'unrepairables' apart and had replaced the bearings satisfactorily.

I do know they are bl**dy expensive from Ducati, but I am also fairly certain that I had located suitable replacements on a bearing supplier website at some stage........sorry, can't recall where.............might have been Simply Bearings or a supplier like that.

  3. the smaller dia full width tensioner bearing is peculiar to that engine and is really compact for the job it does. Even if you managed to dismantle it I think the threaded stud that protrudes is an integral part of the bearing that is also ground to form the inner bearing face of the race so would be worn anyway. They are about £37 each last I looked.

  4. Chris...........I might be wrong, but I'm sure it was poor old Darren (470four) that had managed to repair the 'unrepairables...'

  5. and that, is where you and I will have to agree to differ AL, and I think we know each other well enough to know that it's ok to do this now and then :)

  6. No problem Chris..........but I'm sure I've not got Alzheimer's.

It would be handy if I had a knackered one to play with or try to identify them and resource them from some other suppliers.

  7. Thanks for the input guys. Cheers

  8. re: availability - I see what you mean. With so many engines out there i'm sure stock will recover again. Probably done all this before but can't remember if two part numbers are interchangeable :- www.mdinaitalia.co.uk - Tensionerrollerfixed
