Maybe Bagnaia… Since The Beast returned to the track this year he hasn’t seemed anywhere close to the form he showed last year.
If Bagnia's injuries aren't serious and he's cleared to race next weekend, I think he'll settle for as many points as possible without pushing for the win. Hopefully he'll be fully fit for the Indian GP at the end of the month and back to form. On another note, Vinales has been issued with a formal warning for his tyre pressures being below the Michelin recommended limit, personally I think this is ridiculous.
On both accounts, based on what could have happened to Peco's leg ( Ian Hutchinson comes to mind again ) let's park it and move quickly on to the next round.
"Bastianini suffered a non-displaced fracture of the medial malleolus of the left ankle and a sub-capital fracture of the second metacarpal of his left hand," Ducati confirmed. "Both his hand and ankle have been immobilized with plaster to enable him to travel to Italy tonight. "Bastianini will require surgery on his ankle and, to speed up his recovery, he will also undergo surgery on his hand in the following days."
Seems peccos pain is largely coming from the high side (coccyx) rather than the incident with Binder. It looked absolutely horrible on the telly and probably broke all kind of high jump records.
Seems he fell out with Hodgson after Silvestone too, said he "threw him under the bus" ffs. A bit embarrassing really and reminds me of the old cliche about british riders taking longer to mature..
Jake amazing to watch and great win. If he planned it the way it looked then he is way smarter than I thought. He shouldn't be allowed near a tv camera though, cringingly embarrassing every time. Surely they have to coach him in "speaking in public"
Strange i dont remember the same being said about the dreary red bull ring Should the Barcelona MotoGP start be moved after Catalunya carnage? | MotoGP | Feature (crash.net)
Another incident filled weekend! Great racing, spoiled by the crashes in the GP. People racing on second bikes, worn tyres, wrong tyre choice (due to oil contamination from the crash..). Funny reading the MM comments about Basti, and the fact that he did not look as though he was going to make the corner. Pot. Kettle. Black. Just like watching the mayhem caused by Marquez the last few seasons. Funny how everyone else gets a penalty for the slightest infringement these days… Looks like Aprilia are at least a match for Ducati now, in fact clearly faster in Barcelona! Will be interesting to see if they can fix their problems in the wet. When they do it will be the bike to beat.
It looked like Besta did the same start in the sprint race but with some success. Cant blame him for trying again.
Nowt wrong with T1 or T2 at Barcelona. Just too many riders trying to get around the turn at the same time. It’s up at T12 where the problems are. There are not many crashes up there, but when a crash does occur it can be serious due to the lack of runoff. (Luis Salom)
Just read the article in more depth. I thought they were talking about moving the whole race, turns out they were talking about moving the start towards T1. That would be a good thing to do.
Playing devils advocate you can’t start re arranging race tracks because of over ambitious riders? The TT being an obvious example
Jake Dixon. Great to see him win. But he need to have a word with himself! Longer career because he started later? People writing him off? And other comments…. It was borderline Keegan-esquires in cringiness
Amen, the guy needs to be medicated in the presence of a microphone. I get that he was pumped after the race but to gloat about "outsmarting, the next Marc Marquez"? Acosta is 8 years his junior, and kicking his ass to the tune of 44 points half way through the season. Cool your jets, mate.
