  1. So when you go on site and see the prices of family tickets etc. they are bragging that the prices have been lowered this year.
Well whoopy f****** doo ! If you go by car they are charging you for parking.
I'll bet they cannot guarantee that you get out of the circuit though, in less than 20 minutes.
    Just like football, overpaid, television rights . . . . . .
I won't be going, especially with my family. £360 - Noooooooo
    Tossers

  2. I did look at the prices after the WSB at Silverstone but thought sod that at those prices.....

  3. It is quite expensive, and not the best circuit to spectate at... Bring it back to Donny I say! Still might go though!

  4. Moved to Racing

  5. Have you? It's a lovely little town in the south west of France, good rugby club, and a nice line in local cheese if I remember correctly.

    have a nice time!

    :upyeah:

  6. Its boring to spectate at isnt it.

last time I went we ended up just trying to watch the big screens which at that point you may as well be at home.

bring it back to Donny indeed, at least its got some variation in what you can see

  7. I've never been before but going this year we paid £140 for the weekend and camping and if you book 4 together u get one car park free, what a bargain! Gotta say I was shocked thought it would be much cheaper but looking forward to it anyway despite high prices and hearing everyone say the viewing is terrible

  8. I went a couple of years ago and never again. Overpriced and poor facilities. With the long queues for food and toilets between races, you just don't get enough time to leave your seat and pee or eat. Even worse if you go with the missus as she goes to the loo, comes back half hour later then its your turn. I nearly missed the start of the main race. Take a picnic lunch is my advice. I'd rather watch the racing at home.

  9. Get on that big expensive bike of yours and head for the continent, get drunk at Assen, tanned at Mugello, dizzy at Sachsenring, blast across to Brno, pick a race to suit any season in Spain, and for the love of god enjoy it. Silverstone ain't the only bleedin' track in the world.

  10. Was thinking of going too. It is damn expensive though. I understood Bernie got £17m for the rights to the F1 race there this year. The organiser had to make money out of the gate receipts and sponsorship etc, that's why it's so expensive. Does Bernie have a say in the MotoGP at Silverstone. If he does, I can understand why it's once again bordering on extortionate...

  11. I went last year with a mate on his 999 and we both had a nice time. Yep a little pricey, yes there were queues at the loos and the food stands, but I got to see some great racing with Moto3 and Moto2. Not an every year thing, but still certainly worth going once in a while

  12. Last gp I went to was Brno last year, it was £80 for the ticket, but that was for the whole weekend. Dunno what the deal is with the brit gp, I haven't been for a few years, but a lot of european tracks will only sell you a weekend ticket, you can't buy one for just race day. Shame it's not still at Donington, I think there's still a hole in the fence that leads to the paddock...

  13. Donington is a complete shithole for spectators now. I would go as far as to say its probably the worst in the whole country.

It wouldn't cope with Motogp with the state its in these days.

Shame as its a great track.

  14. ive not been up there for a couple of years... Please don't tell me they have got rid of the big mounds on the straight after coppice?... Used to love watching there as you could see 3 quarters of the circuit!

  15. The last race I went to see was at Assen in 1999, when Foggy was on serious form, bloody superb camping with the local lunatics. (Some drunken cloggy doing burnouts with a VMax digging the back wheel into the ground, no need for a side stand)

The views were fantastic and the atmosphere was awesome.

  16. Donington isn't that bad for viewing, last year I was at the BSB and it was just nice being able to sit up on the grass banks with a few cans of cold beer, ok it's not modern like silverstone but you get to see a lot more of the track in certain areas I reckon

  17. Access to the infield at Donington is now severley restricted.

The only viewing access there infield now is watching Craner Curves on the grassbank. The rest of the infield is all fenced off.

I was talking to an employee who works there last weekend at the CRMC meet and he says that the guy with the F1 plans was paid a large sum of money to allow trucks to dump their waste there. It was used as a motocross track for a while but it now just looks like a rubbish tip.

  18. Donington is a toilet these days, it's a better track than Silverstone for spectating tho.

Personally, think Brands Hatch is the best of them, be epic watching Cal flying round there like foggy in the old days. What sell out?

  19. Let's be honest Donny was a shithole even when Moto GP used it, the facilities were almost third world then.
