Loads….. it’s designed for Asian market and built out there really. Personally I think it will even be popular here, especially in mainland Europe, Spain for example do seem to like a Triumph
Well if it gets more people riding then im all for it of course, just thought they might have been aiming it at the younger market which im not sure would sell well here. Looks quite fun tbf though and id definitely have a go if i was on holiday or some such.
I believe those little Triumphs are going to sell well. There appears to be a lot of interest in these smaller lower hp. bikes just now.
I only ever see litre bikes, courier and deliveroo scoots round this way so I will have to take your word for it. Pleasing to hear thought
My Son would probably buy something like that.Hopefully he will as his other bike want is a RE Himalayan…..
It’s a different world over here, rarely see 1000cc bikes except mine. It’s all triumph tiger 800s, nakeds and Royal Enfields. What’s a deliveroo by the way?
Perhaps, as the average age of bikers gets older there may well be an inclination to ride smaller lighter bikes with low seat heights. I get a lot of pleasure riding my little Honda CB 300R.Of course the power and speed is nothing like a litre engined Ducati. The Honda runs well between 70 and 80mph which is now OK with me for my Sunday rides on the back roads.
slightly unqualified statement there….. yes the Classic platform has been a bit porky, currently the speed twin is around 205KG fuelled and the Ducati scrambler probably 195KG but it has 25 more horsepower, and all their other bikes are comparable, the Street triple is one of the lightest, the Speed triple RR I have is 197KG fuelled, same as my R1 was and lighter than the V2 was. Sorry, but it miffs me when people generalise so much, also something I knew would happen the min someone mentions a triumph on tbe Ducati forum…
Hear what you’re saying but take the 900cc version for example…… 55bhp and 206kg dry……..sorry but that’s lardy in my eyes.
It in no way feels like that. It’s a very torquey motor. Triumph has sold something like 14% of its total current annual worldwide bike build in one month in India of these 400s In France Triumphs are seen as the model to own above Ducatis from my experience. There are two pre production 400s sat in the foyer at Hinckley factory. I’m seriously thinking of buying one for my French garage.
