Funny you say that, as there’s a rumor they’re going to be announcing a smaller capacity off-road style bike this year. I quite like the idea of the Triumph 400, and would seriously consider chopping the Monkey in for one, if it’s sensibly priced.
For me it's very naughty holding the price back and waiting for the demand at the turnstiles before they set the final RRP. Or maybe a one year old Fantic Caballero 500 would be a better move...
Going to look at the Fantic today. Seems like a lot of bike for the money. To be fair on pricing, i think its more to do with the way prices keep increasing across the board that makes any company withold on naming a price now but for next year delivery.
the issue with the fantic that people seem to report is the single cylinder engine is basically a motocross engine and very vibey so less ‘all round’ useable than the twins

Well my 999 weighed in at 205 all up and dyno'd at 134bhp Still miss the 350 Sebring gas flow at about 250lbs slow as Feck though even though it saw off TS suzuki 250's at times in its 23 mm carb 20HP guise!
ps my mates 8 valve weslake headed Tribsa in his own monoshock frame went well and sounded even better.

I like those, but wouldn’t buy the 401, prefer the 701 longer wheelbase and larger capacity engine. It’s sister the Vitpilen has a more Cafe racer riding position, 80 off mpg is pretty impressive. Fortnine did a feature on them, worth a watch.
